GuestClassic FM in the UK is holding a poll of the Top 50 scores of all time. The selections are made from their list of 100 choices, and the top 50 will be played on air. Obviously this doesn’t mean much to folks outside the UK, but it’d still be nice if you head to the site and vote for some of Elfman’s efforts (BATMAN and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS are listed).

GuestRyan, dear chap, I hate to be a fuss-pot but I’ve just spent half an hour dithering ’round the classic FM website and I’m in a bit of a pickle, for I cannot seem to locate the precise section of the site regarding this particular issue. Do be a friendly bloke and fill us in on where in that site we should go to.

GuestHere’s the link:
I think it’s possible to choose other scores as well, infact they invite us to”…Use this list to help make your choice or pick one of your own…”.

GuestAs much as i love Elfman, i have to say my desires have shifted for the time being, and i’m listening to someone else…This sucks because it’s hard to get back into Elfman’s groove when you’re digging on a different sound. Kinda like seeing a new girlfriend and having your old girlfriend show up…

GuestHey, it’s a normal thing to have your tastes change from time to time. Although I still turn on the Elfman once in awhile, yeah, I’m listening to someone else as well. Although it’s kind of painful to leave Elfman gathering dust, I know this is a “good thing” is a “broadening my listening base.” (Hm…ultimate cheesiness in that comment).

GuestHave you heard Jonathan Goldsmith`s score to an “unknown and forgotten” film called “Heads” It sounds very Elfmanish. I recommend you to go to your videostore and locate it because it`s not released on CD.

GuestWell, imagine that! I’m not perfect after all! *grins* There happens to be a severe syntax error in the last sentence of my previous post, and for as much as I get on other posters about that, I deserve a bit of berating for that slip up

GuestI’d love to continue this string, but today i just fell into a real empty, non- inspirational musicless funk from which there is no escape. I hate when this happens, because all you do is pretty much nothing creative.

GuestI always listen to Classic Fm. It’s one of the best radio stations ever. Every Saturday they devote a programme to the movies (Classic FM at the Movies). You can listen to the station live on their website.

GuestAm I allowed to mention David Arnold’s genius on this forum then ?
Sorry – I thought not !
I’ll make sure I place a vote for Danny’s BATMAN – that score still rules even after 13 years (can you believe it’s that old ?!!!)
Cheers,
John
