GuestHello everybody!
In 2000, I organised a concert in Switzerland, including some of my compositions, but also re-workings of some well known film scores for piano.
I thought people who know film music would be intrested in hearing samples of the concert.
The samples contain music from Batman 1&2, BeetleJuice, Black Beauty, Forbidden Zone, but also some Williams scores, and one ho…er score (hum!).

I’d be more than happy to hear your opinion about it.
For people living near Switzerland, Another concert is set for this december, with this time a small string ensemble to play with the piano. Of course, the entrance is going to be free, because I’m not trying to make any money out of this, for obvious copyright reasons.

GuestCan you please send me some sheet music? I think the pieces are fantastic and I would just love to play them!

GuestWell, the only problem is that I have no sheet music. I play all those piece, working them by ear… They’re not the original versions. I’ve taken the original themes, and have done some variations. If you specify which piece you want to play, I could eventually write it down for you, but it may take some time.
Let me know.Eric

GuestI don’t mean to sound rude, but would it be possible if you could send Beetlejuice and Black Beauty? You don’t have to, but I would really appreciate it, and in return if there’s anything you want, just ask. Thanks, Michael.

GuestNo problem. I would just do anything to help any elfman fan… But it could take a little time, since I’m working on a new concert… I’ll try to write it down as soon as I can.

GuestHey, someone else who likes to play film scores! Along with John WIlliams, Danny Elfman’s scores are a particular favourite of mine.
Anyway, here’s my rendition of “Harry Potter” by John Williams, again played by ear. Apologies for the bad sound quality and, er… hmmm… ‘mistakes’, since this was my performance for my recent GCSE music exam (GCSEs are English exams you take at 16). Hope you enjoy it!August 5, 2002 at 3:40 am #41191Anonymous
Guest. . . “played by ear” @_@ No way! Man, if I could play like that, I’d be in heaven! I listened to the whole thing and only heard a few mistakes. Great piano playing!

GuestHey Jamie, seems like we share the same passion: using our ears to reproduce and improvise film scores on the piano…
I truly like what you’ve done with harry potter, and congratulation for your personal composition. I loved it. I Hope you’ll have the occasion to have it played by a real orchestra some time.If you want to hear some of my personnal compositions, you can go at http://www.illusionsoflight.fr.st and click on the “my music” icon.

GuestEric,
If it’s not too much trouble, could you send me a written copy of Batman Returns and Black Beauty? I would be very happy if you could, whenever you’ve got the time.
Regards,
Jeff,
