GuestPotential Elfman project…Saw this at Fangoria.com:
July 17: Raimi to helm 30 DAYS OF NIGHT
Cinescape reports that Sam Raimi will indeed direct 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, based on the comic by Steve Niles (who will script) about an Alaskan town besieged by vampires during a month of total darkness. Raimi will helm for Senator Films once he’s finished with the SPIDER-MAN sequel, which rolls next January.

GuestThere’s a bit of an article about it in the August issue of Wizard magazine. Here’s a tiny blurb:
“In the town of Barrow, Alaska, the winter lasts year-round, the sun sets for a month and alcohol is illegal. Not much to do–unless you’re a vampire. So when a legion of them show up in 30 Days of Night, it’s up to Sheriff Olemaun and his wife/deputy Stella to stop them. Can the town’s only two law enforcement officers stop an army of bloodsuckers?”
And Niles descibes it in his own words:
“‘In the second issue [out in July], I do a time jump and get right to the carnage,’ hints Niles. ‘Everybody’s trapped and the situation is as bad as it can possibly be. Different factions of vampires start to show up, and it just gets ugly.'”
Anyways, I won’t bore you with typing out the whole article, but it sounds pretty snazzy. And, it would be super-saucy if Danny does do the score (although, keep in mind, a certain level of sauciness has already been achieved, considering Sam is directing)!

Guest…Variety reports that Sam Raimi has turned down the vampire film, 30 Days of Night because of the intense pre-production stage of Spiderman 2….

GuestWait, Spiderman 2 comes out in January? Is that, like, January in 6 months January? That’s fast. If it’s like, January in 18 months, January, that’s too long! I hope it’s the former.

GuestJanuary is when it “rolls” meaning that is when filming (or principle photogrophy) begins.
