GuestBrett Ratner’s new film is in post-production and still doesn’t have any composer attached to it (at least, not that I’m aware of), so do you think that……well, do I have to complete my sentence ?

GuestIt’s possible.

GuestWhen I saw the trailer – as far as I could tell – there was no composer attached on the credits.
I’m hoping that Danny is interested in scoring the film. He hasn’t really done a movie like this before.
(Maybe the music will be like Herrmann’s The Wrong Man, due to the tropical motif. He-He)
It would be a shame if Danny only scored one film this year.

Guest>>I’m hoping that Danny is interested in scoring the film. He hasn’t really done a movie like this before. << Well, I wouldn’t quite say that. Both MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and A SIMPLE PLAN has some of that “heist”-vibe to it, and PROOF OF LIFE showcases Elfman’s take on South American/”tropical” orchestration. But I’d like to see the Ratner/Elfman collaboration continue as well.

GuestTrue. It’s a safe bet that the music for After the Sunset would have similarities of the said scores, but judging from the trailer, I’d imagine something much lighter in tonality… but who really knows?

GuestI’m glad Danny has an open slate this year. He’s already working on Charlie and that gives more time to that and Corpse Bride. The more time the better. A Year is a creative goldmine. It worked that way when Nightmare Before Christmas and Batman Returns were in post production and it’s working taht way again now. I think he’s even got MORE time now!
Man. I’m so hyped about those two new Burton films… especially since Tim’s now co-directing Corpse Bride with that one animater guy. He only produced Nightmare!
