KeymasterNo, but they used to spam me with their gig notices for years.

ParticipantI saw them back in 2001 or so at their premiere show (House of Blues, Disneyland). That show was pretty cool; quite fun. Since then, I’ve seen them perhaps three more times, and it was never as much fun as the first…they actually get more annoying each time. They’re good to see once, but not for repeat performances…especially at $20 a show. Showmanship is fair, song accuracy is quite lacking (to a musician’s ear, anyway), and their habit of half of them dressing up like the band really gets to you after a while (more like mockery than tribute). Eh…just my opinion.

ParticipantThats what I thought. I saw their website and it seemed somewhat cheesy. They are playing at the Key Club coming up and wanted to see if it was worth going.

ParticipantYeah, they are worth seeing at least once. It’s cool that someone out there cares enough to make a tribute band… I just don’t see why some people tout them so highly; it could be done much better. Not to put a damper on it for you, ha. I enjoyed the first show I saw.

ParticipantThey play in San Diego quite often, but I just can’t do it. Maybe to someone who didn’t get a chance to see Boingo live it would be cool, but having seen the real thing, I don’t know. Seems kind of weird to try to completely copy Oingo Boingo.

ParticipantThanks for the input. I guess I will keep my boingo heart pure and refrain from seeing them. It would probably just piss me off anyway.
