ParticipantDid Danny write an altered version of the Main Titles for the trailer for CatCF? I’m curious because I just watched the trailer again and I heard parts of the Main Titles but other parts that were different and not within the score. And while on the topic of the trailer, what the hell is the really heavy music that plays at the end of the trailer? Soundtrack.Net says it’s James Newton Howard’s “Pater Pan,” but I have that score and it’s not there. Trailer nmusic forums are stumped as well. Any ideas as to what it is?

ParticipantFor the first part of your question, I don’t think it’s a rewritten version of the Main Titles, I just think it’s recut… Tim probably did that just for the trailer… but it’s definately from the Main Titles.
As for the second part of your question… a million people have been confused by this it seems (including myself). From what I understand, it definately is a cue in the Peter Pan film, although it is not included on the OST (original soundtrack), so even though it was scored by James Newton Howrard, there’s really no hard copy of it to be found… probably part of the reason Burton, or WB saw fit to use it. I sorely wish there was, though.

KeymasterThere doesn’t seem that there are any melodic ideas linking the trailer music to PETER PAN though the style sounds very much like James Newton Howard. A mystery!

ParticipantWow, when Ryan’s stumped I’m worried. I didn’t think it sounded like Peter Pan, either. As a side note, I thought that movie was AWFUL. The score was decent but not JNH’s best.

ParticipantI know I’ve read that it was from that movie several times…. you’re saying it’s not?

ParticipantThat music definitely sounds very JNH-ish, especially like Dinosaur. Such an underrated score and my favorite of his.
