ParticipantToday in my high school, the “transitional class” (the kids with mental disabilities) put on a little play for everyone because they do it every year. This year they performed “A Night at the Oscars,” which was written by a creative writing class and it had the kids pretending to have an Oscar ceremony to the best of their abilities, which was really quite touching. The thing that really got me was then they were announcing the “winners” of the music award, and lo and behold, one of the girls said, “Danny Elfman for Willy Wonka,” followed by one of the girls in the class for a fictional work and then “John Williams for Star Wars.” I was completely taken aback by hearing them say Danny Elfman, and I was doubled over in laughter, as was my still-friends ex-girlfriend who was sitting next to me and knew about my love for his music. I thought it was afun little story to share, because I was entirely amused by the whole thing. I salute whoever put Danny into the script.

ParticipantKeep in mind, this play was performed by the mentally handicapped. Sex and drugs are a big no-no for their productions.
