GuestDoes anyone here appreciate Flea’s Bass Playing from the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s. I think it’s great that Danny recognized flea’s talent so very early in Flea’s career and had him play on his 1984, SOLO album. Flea was only 22 years of age at the time. I was fortunate enough to see The Red Hot Chili Peppers Open up for Oingo Boingo in 1983 at the Universal Amphitheater. Sadly, they were booed. I thought they were really good. For some reason, people in the crowd kept yellng ,”go back to New York!”. I always thought may’be they were too “black” sounding for the average Boingo fan. I wonder what Elfman fans think of Flea now? Now that his band is one of the most successful worldwide. Personally, I think he’s a musical genius. I also think it’s only a matter of time until he starts scoring films too, which, he has expressed interest in doing. BTW, did you know that Cliff Martinez was the drummer for the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s for their first 2 albums. He’s now a film composer and has scored Traffic, Sex, Lies and Video Tape and Kafka to name a few. Does anyone have any thought’s on Flea, Bass player genious?

GuestMy brother considers Flea a major inspiration. He has played in many bands but has struck gold (fingers crossed) with REACHING JANE. They are now on the west coast and making a name for themselves. If you want to find out any info on my brother or his band go to:
I do their website on no-budget (so be gentle), also check out their first video (which I directed) and some of their music.
I’m not a big Flea person but I do recognize his talent. Was him or Anthony that was in the band – I know one of them (or possible both) was?
Nat who is also a bug (like Flea)
