I’ve enjoyed, or rather have been disturbed by, Ryden’s work for some time.
I actually didn’t know danny was a fan. Thanx Ryan.

Oh, and if refering to the “jacket” cover of Dark at the End of the Tunnel, that is a Peter Zokosky painting.

yeah Mark Ryden is great. I have some of his work. Love “The Magic Circus.” He used to design alot of the Boingo artwork, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that Elfman is a fan.

You know, this stuff is nice and really morbid looking — even the renditions of Christina Ricci, dicaprio, and even Buffy the Vampire Slayer, no less…My only problem with this guy’s extremely talented art is that considering the recent stigma with child porn andchurch boy molestings and all that other shite, having stuff like this hanging in your home might be misunderstood. For some people, it probobly looks kinda bad. But i’d freaking buy every single one of these paintings. It’s like a cross between those weird carnival art pieces and Tim Burton’s work…

He’s got some snazzy work–but I’m still a bigger fan of Edward Gorey. If you think Mark Ryden has some wicked paintings, check out Gorey’s “Gothic Alphabet” ( done in pen and ink) very saucy.

I have a poster of the Gashlycrumb Tinies hanging on the wall behind me. It’s my favorite alphabet book, but alas, ’tis also the one I can’t take to work with me. I fear I’d lose my job after K is for Kate who was struck by an axe, if not before. A is for Amy who fell down the stair, is probably enough to bring me before the school board. Especially since my classroom is on the top floor LOL.

Danny has spoken of Edward Gorey, may he rest in piece, in interviews as well.

Back to the actual topic of this thread… Can anyone tell me which of the t-shirt and other artwork for Boingo are Mark Ryden and which are Georgean Dean’s (Did I get that name right?)

A painting by Mark Ryden comes to vivid (and eerie) life in that less than fantastic movie, MONKEYBONE.

Ah, thank you Beth! It appears that I only have one Mark Ryden shirt if that is the total of what he did for them. Actually, I have a sweatshrit too, but same design.
