GuestDo you bastards ever watch the news? Anyway, they used music from RED DRAGON on DATELINE NBC Tuesday night – they did a story on a serial killer confession taken from a beautiful young investagator. They used Shore’s music from SILENCE ON THE LAMBS too.

GuestThis bastard never watches the news because it depresses him to no end.

GuestWho said DATELINE is the news? Sheesh, the show merely recycles decades old 60 MINUTES story ideas!

GuestI don’t consider Dateline, nor any other “pseudo-news” show (i.e. Dateline, 20/20, Good Morning America, 60 Minutes) a reliable source. They’re all biased one way or another. I read the paper, but even that I don’t consider “news;” I don’t consider vegging in front of the tube getting the news, either. News ain’t objective…but you already knew that. The only person you can trust to give you the straight story…well, that’s yourself, kiddos.
But back to Danny…his music seems to be getting used a lot lately, huh? First the second Tomb Raider trailer, now Dateline. Neato!

Guest…and don’t forget the latest Star Trek: Nemesis Trailer Erika.
Nat
Of course all of my News is “fair and balanced” since I get it from Fox News (I’m being sarcastic), but I have to say that I find it refreshing that the right has a news outlet (because they already practically run the Radio News outlets except for PRM). It won’t matter anyway because like the saying goes, when it all comes down to the nitty-gritty; the news will be the History of tomorrow, and History is just told from the winners point of view. (I can’t remember who said that at the moment)… It’s late, I’m sick, and I’m up, so why not type?

Guestalso, there was that preveiw before ‘the ring’ with the witch lady who lived in a lighthouse. it played ichabod’s fantasy-style theme. then you guys may not care, but my heart swelled to hear Requiem for A Dream’s theme used as temp music for The Two Towers. is that not awesome?
“the news will be the History of tomorrow, and History is just told from the winners point of view.”
i rather like that philosophy, mr. nat. it’s truth and it’s also kind of a downer. but i like it anyway.
hoping nat feels better,

GuestNat – I wouldn’t know about the Star Trek: Nemesis trailer, or any trailer that’s been shown on TV for the past couple of weeks. I got rid of my TV about two weeks ago. Figured all I do is waste time watching cartoons anyway, and although I’ll miss ’em, I do have to get to work on other stuff. I have a DVD player on my computer, so I’ll still have movies and such…is the Nemesis trailer on apple.com? I know Red Dragon was…I’ll go look. In any case, I”d like to see it, if it’s on a website.
Yep, the winners always get to tell their story as “news,” because the losers have been utterly vanquished. The story of Western civilization…look at the textbooks and tell me they’re not biased. Few women, even fewer minorities…objective my shoe! “The right has a news outlet…” Hm…I used to be a hardcore, straight-ticket Democrat when I was first able to vote, but now I’ve lost faith in all party issues…now I vote for whomever I believe has the best platform, political parties aside. Oh god, now I’m waxing political…darn cold medicine has gone to my head (wait, it’s supposed to do that!) Kind of like how Danny used to be a hardcore liberal, now he said that he doesn’t try to lean either way…he mentioned that he became disillusioned with liberalism, and when he left, he left “in a big way.” I guess I can relate to that; I just do my own thing now…a mixture of liberal and conservative. Politics are tiring…

GuestI believe the Star Trek: Nemesis trailer is on apple, if not go to the http://www.comingsoon.net website and find the trailer portion, it has a link somewhere over there.
As for political parties, everyone should have listened to George Washington when he warned of them back when he was president (talk about a forward thinker). The truth is; it is hard to vote independent in a political climate like we have now. Don’t believe me, just check out how many independent people actually get elected. If you like a Democrat or Republican for one issue and decide to vote for him, you are actually voting for the Democratic or Republican party in the end, because you know where he/ or her stands on everything else just because of a stupid affiliation. Politics has really become the Masonry societies of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Thanks for the sick pep talk, but I’m afraid I’m still sick… hope it’s not the West Nile. Things could be worse, so I don’t mind being sick for a couple of weeks if it allows me to sleep my cares away.

GuestI just assume that all who watch DATELINE are indeed bastards. God knows I am – and I never even watch the show! It was just on TV while I was at my friend’s house. All this over calling folks ‘bastards’? Man, I am such an a**hole…….
Can anyone second that?

GuestHey, hey! I’m a bastard! Among other things–but really, my parents never married. (My mom’s great, and my dad’s an @!#$, so that’d make me at least half-bastard, I’m sure).
Don’t spend much time watching the news lately, though–I’m on pleasure over-load from all the cheesy horror that’s been floating around on t.v. as of late.
That, and I’ve gotta prepare for Halloween. I mean, come on! It is the one day out of the whole year when it’s legal to scare the little….children. Yeah, I’m all giddy….
