As you may have seen from that “anniversary” post I got a little p***ed off. I think it would be totally awesome if “somebody” released a special edition of Edward Scissorhands. First of all, the art work is a little dated and there isn’t enough! Secondly, that Tom Jones song, well, how much I respect him, that song just doesn’t do him justice! Has the world gone mad, doesn’t Elfman understand that money can be made from this, well, I don’t think he’s in it for that, but you get my drift?! Is there anything we can do? I’m serious about this. Elf dude, if your listening, do us all a favour and release some kinda special edition of Edward! Now, have I made myself clear? Who’s with me?

We can always inform Varese Sarabande what we would like to see (even it is a limited edition Varese Club release). They could at least inform us on who owns the rights to the score. Mr. Townson of VS is a very reasonable, and courteous man – I learned through the nice letter he wrote to me about my music.

Nat who is for a Edward Scissorhand’s Special Edition 2 CD set (or any Elfman Special Edition for that matter)

Hooray for Nat, who got a letter from Mr. Townson of Varese Sarabande.

-E (Woo! Man, I looked at http://www.rathergood.com for FAR too long; it’s creeping into my subconscious!

    ::Creep:: ::Creep:: ::Creep::

    Me: What was that?!
    Subconscious: Your subconscious.
Me: Oh, hello Ms. Subconscious. Pleased to meet you!
    Subconscious: Hello yourself, freakpatty.

Well, now that we’ve gotten THAT straightened out…)

No offense folks, but there isn’t enough score in EDWARD SCISSORHANDS to make up 2CDs worth.

The rights to the score are held by Twentieth Century Fox, while MCA released the soundtrack.

I’m always hoping that Danny will go back and write more music for Edward Scissorhands–just because (and you know the guy has so much free time, huh? Example 1: blunt sarcasm). Still, it’s a nice thought, because it is a snazzy/saucy score (and you really can’t get better than snazzy AND saucy)!

I’m going to go back to begging someone to purchase the huge Edward Scissorhands figurine for me for Christmas. It just popped up in about four stores around here, and it’s just like the little one from McFarlane toys–it actually looks like him and all.

And, as an added bonus, you can make his scissorhands go “narg, narg” or whatever other noise you want to make while moving them. It’s sure to entertain for hours….

If you want to hope for anything, hope for a release of perhaps SCROOGED and SUMMER SCHOOL on one disk ala BACK TO SCHOOL and PEEWEE’S BIG ADVENTURE.

E.D., the Edward figure is fantastic, only I can’t get mine to stand on it’s own. Right now he’s leaning against my desk.

I want him up there with Michael Myers, Freddy and Ash.

Hmmm….I have the little Edward figure, and he stands up on his own; it’ll be a disappointment if the big one doesn’t! (www.entertainmentearth.com looks like they have some decent stands–I’ve never ordered from ’em, but they’ve just sent me a magazine).

I’m not too fond of the Ash and Evil Ash that are 12″ high, and look like they are full of stuffing–or something (Ash has his “boomstick” and Evil Ash is holding only one sword)….the tiny figurines look really good, though (I’ve got the Evil Ash one, and you can even see the detail on the soles of his boots)!

But I have wanted the huge Ash figurine forever–are we talking the one that looks just like Bruce Campbell, and has the chainsaw attatched to his hand? If so, I’m about to be really jealous….

There are loads of those figures in the shops here and even a few 18 ” ones too! I’m hoping to get it for Christmas. The hands move too – battery powered (the amazing things that can be done today!).

The 18″ one is the Edward I’m talking about–with the hands that go “narg, narg.” It’s on my Christmas list, because I’m broke! (Oh, what a time to be broke)….

the detail in those mcfarlane figures is incredible. the t8000 endoskeloten has little wires and the regular t8000 has little dangling straps on his leather jacket!
oh and the darkness figure form “legend” is amazing.
