GuestHello folks,
This is my first time to this board, although I have been to a few other “Danny Elfman Boards.” I am writing to find out what might be the easiest and quickest way to get a signed photograph for my wife Amy. Today is her 23rd birthday and for the last month, I have been trying to get information on how to contact him. I finally got a FAX number to his agent, but from what I hear this may take a VERY long time. My wife Amy, from the time she was 10 was listening to Danny’s music. I myself was seeing Oingo Boingo play back in California for Halloween and other shows (our love for his music is just one of our many passions). When her friends were listening to New Kids on the Block, she was listening to Danny. She also was turned on to Tim Burtons movies and loves his work, as well as any movie Mr. Elfman does the score to. She has this uncanny knack for picking out his music even when she doesn’t know he did the soundtrack (MIB, Spiderman etc.) Anyhow, as I had posted on other boards before, my wife has a severe case of Crohn’s disease that has taken MUCH of her life from her. She was diagnosed when she was 15 and has been to the hospital for emergency surgeries perhaps 23 or so times, plus dozens ER trips where no surgery was needed. We even spent our honeymoon two years ago in a Toronto hospital and again on a trip to my folks in California.
My point is that music, and especially Danny Elfman’s inspires her, cheers her up and and helps keep her from completely going insane. She has had to drop out of college and can’t work due to her Crohn’s, and this was extremely tough for such a bright and intelligent young lady to cope with. If anyone has a way to get in contact with Mr. Elfman, all I really want is for him to send her an autographed picture addressed to her. She has one of Tim Burton she got on E-bay, but it’s just not the same. Danny Elfman is her idol. Every Halloween and Christmas Eve, we watch The Nightmare Before Christmas with our family and I can see it in her expression just how much joy she gets from his work. Something simple like a photograph would absolutely mean the world to her. I didn’t have any luck for her Birthday, but I’m not giving up hope yet. Feel free to e-mail me rromeike@nmu.edu or SoPhast@yahoo.comThanks everyone for taking the time to read this….Happy Thanksgiving

GuestGo on E-bay and look for Danny Elfman. There are autograph cards on there sometimes. One is from Nightmare Before Christmas, and the other is from Sleepy Hollow. So you can be pretty sure they’re they are the real deal. Just type in “Danny Elfman”, “Nightmare Card”, “Nightmare Signed”, “Sleepy Hollow Card” “Sleepy Hollow Signed”. Hopefully you can find one, and be able to afford it. The Sleepy Hollow one looks really cool. They usually go for between $40-$60. Here is another place you may be able to get one: http://www.warp9cards.com and scroll down to autograph cards, under Sleepy Hollow. Good luck.-Rick

GuestHe wanted it sent to her by Elfman, and I think that is a much better idea than just buying one on E-Bay.

GuestYes, I realise that. I can read. If a personalised autograph or photo cannot happen, an autograph card is a lot better than nothing. He may never get a response from Elfman. Next time I’ll keep my mouth shut.

GuestOkay, thanks Knight. I don’t like to promote E-Bay, cause most autographs are fake, but they are really cool cards. It’s the closest thing I’ll probably get to having an in person autograph. I hope he can get the real deal for his wife, that would be great.
