KeymasterMy favorite Christmas movie: CHRISTMAS VACATION followed closely by SCROOGED.
Make a movie set at Christmas time and it will live forever.

ParticipantAm I the only one who thought Ron Howard’s “The Grinch” was amazing?

KeymasterI think there are some genuinely funny parts, but they’re all improvised by Carrey, and truly have nothing to do with the essence of the GRINCH story. The movie truly has no flow and without the bare-bones story, would be a complete mess.
I also thought the Whos were…. Ugly!

ParticipantI don’t care for The Grinch, either.
Although, I did enjoy the Edward Scissorhands main title cameo.

ParticipantAll right, so it’s very, very close to “Edward Scissothands.” However, it still has an unmistakable Horner sound to it. Not as bad as how Silvestri’s “Polar Express” ripped directly from Debney’s “Elf,” and also Debney’s “Passion of the Christ” had almost a full minute of material from Horner’s “Glory.” I still enjoyed the rest of the “Grinch” score and his “Where are you Christmas” theme.

KeymasterAre we still on this GLORY in THE PASSION OF CHRIST? This was already a topic of dicussion months ago. THE PASSION and GLORY both reference Vaughn Williams’ “Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis”.
It bothers me that people grind their axe with PASSION because of it’s politics.
