The official site is finally working (reddragonmovie.com). Inter-twined are tidbits from the score, like in the ledger pages.
okay.. maybe i was mistaken. the opening intro sounds elfman like and the first picture in the ledger [of HANNIBAL] also has very elfman qualities. But they may not be from the score.
There is a clip of a piece of music that sounds ELFMAN-ESQUE in the HAnnibal Lecter area of the Official Site’s “Ledger” section. After you DRAG the first Hannibal Pic over to it’s place holder, you’ll hear Hannibal giving a speach from the movie it’s self. I read this speach in the script that I bought off of movie head. I can now say that it’s GENUINE!
In this speach scene [in the script], he’s actually giving a toast to the musicians of The Boston Pops Orchestra, for whom he cooked dinner (their flautist). They don’t know they’re eating him.
The toast, though, is wonderful and The MUSIC sounds so evocative of ELFMAN that it just has to be his indeed.
PS: Sadly I did hear some clips from Hannibal in other portions of the site so that leaves me to suspect this may be source music. I hope it isn’t, though! IT HAS TO BE ELFMAN!
