I havent’ checked the messege boards lately but i was wondering if anybody was going to the huanted mansion at disneyland that has been converted into the nightmare before christmas? I went last and year and thought i was gonna pee myself! But the only thing that was missing was danny’s music form the film!!! Dosen’t that defeate the purpose of celebrating the movie when you don’t even have the same music? Anybody know what’s up with that?

you know the Edward-Nightmare music you hear while on the ride, and when you go into the main, big room?? Thats Danny!!! He wrote the music, as far as I know, from sources. I personally loved the music, it was awesome. I forgot, at the end don’t you see Jack, Sally, etc… instead of “your ghost?”. I think I remember getting Sally at the end…
Anyways, Burton was supposed to show up last year, with Danny, but I think he had to shoot for Apes.
And NO, Burton and Elfman are not going to be there this year. I am 99% sure, because I just saw Nightmare a week or two ago at El Capitan in Hollywood. ( My brother goes to Cal-Arts, so we just drove a little into Hollywood!!), and Burton and Elfman didn’t show up, even though Danny was there last year. ( my brother went last year but I miised it). This year, director Henry Selick was there, accompanied by the guy who did the voice for the Mayor, and the mom from Frankenweenie ( too lazy to look on imdb.com for names! )
Is it called Scary Christman this year also?? hmm…..

i think elfman had a jolly time doing the music this year. i think he did most of it, too. considering the main themes were the scheming song and making christmas.. and don’t forget those zombies attempting to sing ‘what’s this’ and those pumkins singing.. pretty neat. i went off to buy the soundtrack, but they are only selling the usual music! blah! oh, and this year, we sat with different jack-in-the-box things. i got the kitty both times!

Maybe TIm and Danny didn’t show up because Henry Selick was going to be there.

matt: hahahahaha! and after the monkeybone movie, i’d be avoiding selick too..

o cmon! you can’t blame Selick for monkeybone! it was all the producers! I heard he gets mad at them on the DVD, but I know for sure that they screwed up his movie, from mulitiple sources…. dont judge a movie by it’s director….do you think Selick wanted that rap or whatever you call it song at the end?
it reminds me of the Simpsons when after Zorro there’s that hip hop song! haha
I guess just think of Nightmare only and not most of Monkeybone.. poor selick, they really screwed with his movie. he’s such a talented and nice guy…
I never saw monkeybone (and never felt the urge to also) didn’t selick do james and the giant peach? I thought that was really good, i think he did it right after nightmare if i remember correctly (plus tim was one of the producers for james) I honestly didn’t see monkeybone just because i think Brandon Fraiser is a moron….lol……

p.s. when i saw the nightmare ride last year i don’t remember any danny music from then film but it was good besides the fact. I waited in line for hours for that thing.That was the first time i have ever seen the mansion that full and did you know that 89% of the people in line had no clue what it was all about?? Those poor people….
judging from the one boingo shirt, several jthm tees, and millions (i donno.. how many people go to disneyland?) of nmbc shirts-jackets- ugly mayor hats-girls with santy hats and beards, i think that everyone knew what they were there for when i went. the montage of black made disneyland look good, and the brass bayou band never sounded so awesome.
i looked back at one of our older topics and it said that john debney arranged danny’s music. it was very cool and you can hear pathetic bits of it on tv commercials, (i saw my first one today!)
i didn’t have to wait in line for the mere two times i went on. the first time because i befriended a nice man who i found out later was disabled (the whell chair had been beside where he was sitting) and he let me com along so i wouldn’t have to wait in line. the second time was at night. the usher guy went crazy and said “any fast passes after 3:30 come on!” and i remembered that i still had the fast pass i was going to use before i met george, (disabled savior.) so i got to go again! it is soooo incredible and if you already went the previous years, it only gets better!lexi: well, that was too much for 8 am.
*Grumble* So…things are great over here in Nebraska…yeah. Why don’t I turn my granny mortuary into a haunted mansion and play NMBC music as people go through? Uh…somehow I don’t think it would be quite the same…

if you would’ve gone on it any more if would have taken that “magical” effect away… i think once is enough…but thats just me.
i went on it three times (and they only had it open in the afternoon due to technical problems) And evertime i was so excited!!!! I’m going again this year with my two best friends..the only problem is that there dating!! So, like always i will be the third wheel! (lol) I wish i could find a bf who likes them as much as me…(but i think that was already another topic that i vented in already lol) Anyway, i know this is lame but…anybody wanna go wih me? LOL I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask my fellow elfman freaks….you don’t have to really respond….but if you want too that would be cool too lol….

hee hee hee hee. suddenly i hear paparoach fo on my radio, “this is my last resort.” timing. an important thing.
well, two times cretainly was enough for that day but apparently by the next day i was off begging others to take me again! the first time i went on, george, (nice fellow in wheel chair) and my mom (a libra) talked the whole time and i kept wondering why i wasn’t sitting by myself! you should just go by yourself Xmasgrl! the seceond time was the best. it was at night and i specifically told my mom to, “please talk less this time.” she still talked but i could barely hear her. well, i think i’m still sleepy.
