GuestIt was totally not Zimmer’s fault for ripping-off Mars from Holst’s Planets. Blame it on Ridley Scott, the director. Ridley said he badly wanted that in the battle scenes, so, he asked Hans to include in his music.

GuestI am sorry, but I still think that it didn’t sound alot like Mars (that is a good thing).

Depends on who he feels like talking about on any given day.

GuestWell, it didn’t really sound like “Mars” so much to me as it did a long, excrutiating bowel movement. But then, that’s pretty much every that that soulless kraut turns out in my opinion.

GuestBy the way Hans Zimmer have scored three films directed by Swedish/swedish related directors so when are Danny scoring for a swedish director it would be cool
Here are some director choices:
Lasse Hallström (who used Hans Zimmer for Something to talk about, James Horner for Once Around, Chris Young for Shipping news and Rachel Portman for The Cider house rules)
Bille August (okay he`s from Denmark but who cares) he have used Hans Zimmer for House of the spirits and Smilla`s Sense of Snow, Basil Poledouris for Les Miserable.
Kjell Sundvall who is Swedens most box office director right now
and why not Colin Nutley (he`s from England but works since the eighties in Sweden) he is one of the biggest know directors in Sweden and because his from England he wont have any problem with the communication between the director and the composer.November 21, 2002 at 11:38 pm #43035Anonymous

I still can't get enough of that huge brass sound, it just moved me, although for some reason they really downtoned it in the film, so it lost almost all of it's effect. Knight (No matter what composer, there is always something that they have done that I like, but everything Elfman has done I like)
