You can elaborate as much or as little as you like, but I was thinking the other day (which is kinda scary, but it happens), that it might be interesting to learn about the people who come here (on an Elfman-ish level, you know)….

For example: If you could have one of Danny’s scores playing in the background of your life, which score would it be, and why?

Or, if you could have Danny score a movie you wrote and directed, what would the main plot be? Or the title, or genre, or whatever….

Or, if you had to choose one composer, one writer, one artist, ect….as your favorites, who would they be and why? Any connection between ’em?

Or, if Danny were one of those people who had a sandwich named after him, what would it consist of?

(The sandwich question should probably have some sort of philosophical element; some meats are just more Danny-ish than others….So you should probably explain why you chose what you did–instead of just compiling a delicious stack of sandwichness. For instance, I don’t think he’s Spam-ish at all, but perhaps someone could convince me otherwise)….

The sandwich question is kind of a joke, but I find it funny that it took the longest to explain….

(And that would be why I never post questions)!

If I could have one score playing in the background of my life, it would probably be PeeWee’s Big Adventure . . . Don’t ask why, it just fits . . . in an odd sort of way.

i would like to think Batman or Spider-Man would be playing in the background of my life, but I think Sleepy Hollow is much more appropriate.
as for the other questions, we would risk getting really into it, and having to justify our choices. I can simply guess that I would choose a Sleepy Hollow type score because it’s got a lot of elements I connect with…i can’t say it’s my favorite elfman score or anything, but I think he captured that perfect atmosphere of colonial america…and I come from the chilly northeast, and love to listen to that on cold days while reading Poe. In addtion, it’s got elaborations on that wonderful romantic theme for Ichabod and Catrina..so it’s sleepy hollow for me.

Following Mr.Dantz/Nigelsimmons’ lead, if I could have an Elfman score accompanying “the story of my life,” it would be “Black Beauty.” Why? Because it stays fairly mellow, and with the same theme varied throughout. There’s also the fact that I simply love the music beyond words :-)

Here’s one for you: if you could have any Boingo song as the accompaniment to your life, what would it be?

Mine: “Better Luck Next Time.” It’s kind of goofy, but the lyrics really follow my existence quite closely. Enough said.

-E (“This one’s too hot! This one’s too cold! Ah, this one’s just right!”)

Okay, I’m horrible at this! I tried, but I couldn’t pick just one Boingo song, so here’s what I came up with:

I think Insanity kinda reflects my life a bit, because I find lots of hypocracy in the world. (I’d marry Holden Caulfield if I could find him–and he was twenty-something, instead of seventeen, and not just a fiction character).

Also, I feel like I never quite fit in anywhere, but I don’t mind not fitting in–so I can relate to that.

Plus, dolls are evil, and I’d like to cut ’em up!

I also have quite an affinity for Change, because I don’t like it when things get all different–and it seems like it’s the good stuff that’s always the first to go. I’m horrible about letting go of the past….

And I really like how he “screams” the lyrics (thinking about the live recording, and not the Boingo album), because it works well to get the point across.

That, and I like to experiment with words and poems and such, like Danny experimented with the musical undertones and lyrics and all–I can’t do music, so I stick with what I known (sort of)!

My Life works for me–just because it seems my life falls to pieces on a daily basis! (And that would be the shortest explanation I give for a song)!

Can’t See (Useless) is another good one, because I had a really, really good friend once upon a time, and then he up and decided he liked drinking more than me.

(He’s my cousin, so it kinda makes it an on-going problem; you really can’t get rid of family). I would’ve done anything for him–but he didn’t want the help. So, I mentally hear that song a lot.

And I don’t know why, but I like the song Water so much, that I’m thinking it has something to do with my life–but I’m not sure what….

I think it’s that I just get a kick outta all the “visual” images, and want to draw them really bad! Sucks to me, because I can only draw someting if it’s sitting right in front of me–or in a picture, or something!

Which pretty much means that the song just drives me crazy and there’s not a damn thing I can do–because I have to listen to it. It’s a sickness….

Oh, and I like to drink water….

Well, unfortunetly, I don’t think anything Danny has written would work well as background music for my life, my life has been to chaotic lol. Now for the Elfman sandwich (I just can’t help it):

Rye Bread with mayo and White Turkey meat and oozing tomato sauce (I really have no clue what I am saying, but this sandwich sounds really really gross).
