Guestin both the Red Dragon CD-rom interview and his letter to FSM subscribers, Brett Ratner asserts that Red Dragon “represents the first time that Danny scored a realistic thriller”. Umm…what about A Simple Plan, and Dolores Claiborne?? (just to name a couple)
P.S. i don’t frequent this board much anymore, so i apologize if this subject has already come up.

GuestMaybe he meant thriller as in kinda like a horror film. But if that’s the case, I could name some movies like that he’s scored

GuestRatner mentions that Elfman hasn’t scored a straight ahead thriller. He says that Elfman has scored thrillers with fantasy elements. He seems to be forgetting A SIMPLE PLAN, which is a thriller but leans more of a drama than RED DRAGON, which is a straight ahead thriller.
