GuestMy sources are the same as anyone in the filmscoring world. You can call up the orchestra contractors for RED DRAGON, The Music Team/Debbie Datz-Pyle and Patti Zimmitti and ask them when the score is being recorded. I’m going to do that.
BTW, further evidence that this CD artwork is a dupe. The artwork for RED DRAGON is not that sliver of Anthony Hopkins face (which coincidentally is taken from a .gif format image for that artwork, which explains the dithering on the face only — meaning whoever put it together is working with small files, something that doesnt happen when you’re designing artwork).
The real artwork is the tatooed back with Hopkins walking towards you in the center. That’s what you’ll see on Decca’s cover.

GuestAh, now Ryan – I think you *may* have got a little carried away on this one occasion
I mean regarding your comments about the artwork being a “dupe”.
Here’s why :
I assume that you have not seen the UK artwork for the forthcoming official re-issue of the Red Dragon NOVEL ? If not, take a look here – you may be in for a surprise !
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0099441381/mounse
Obviously, whilst most movies DO stick with one core image for the entire marketing campaign (e.g. HANNIBAL), it’s also quite common for there to be 2 or even 3 key images which are used, but with the same typeface logo etc.
I think that this is what they plan to do with Red Dragon …
… unless of course Amazon made their image up too
Just thought I’d throw this extra nugget of trivia into the pot ..

GuestWhat does the UK re-issue of the book RED DRAGON have to do with Universal Pictures’ North American artwork campaign?
Nothing.
I’m getting tired now of this subject. It’s to the point where I figure it’s John Mounsey who is cooking up all this bull. The “source” is either bullshitting, or it’s John. Either way, it’s garbage. There is no artwork for this release. The score hasn’t been recorded.
If you want to believe the contrary, be my guest. But you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. Future posts on this subject or others that are factually incorrect will be deleted — the point of this board is to deliver news, and stimulate discussion about Danny Elfman, not a place to create rumors and fool people.

GuestHi again. This will be my final post on this subject.
I’d just like to set the record straight that I AGREE WITH YOU RYAN regarding the fact the score may well have not been fully recorded yet (or at all) !
In fact, I have agreed with you on that part of this saga ever since you first contacted me. Also, I can assure that I did not personally create the images or track listing in question. I will sent them from an anonymous source as described on my page, and from the information I was given, I am confident that at the very least, the artwork etc. is genuine and from a true source.
I fully expect the score to be excellent as usual from Elfman, and I am sorry that certain people have started to get a little carried away with this (ok, myself included in that!)
That’s all for now.
Thanks for allowing this subject to remain on the board. I didn’t start the thread of course, but the info on my own site is posted in good faith and has not been intended to mislead or deceive anyone, least of all Danny Elfman or Red Dragon fans.
Regards,
John Mounsey. - AuthorPosts
