Danny Burton
ParticipantSo, I was searching for Danny interviews and I found this:
http://www.austinchronicle.com/issues/dispatch/2003-07-25/music_feature.html“I was complaining to Danny Elfman, ‘Who am I gonna go to?’ And he said, ‘Why don’t you do the score?’ I said, ‘What are you talking about? It’s a huge score!’ He knew I played guitar and said, ‘It’s not that big a deal.’ “
Does Robert Rodriguez need an ironydar? Was Danny being serious or was he basically telling him to shut the f**ck up and stop stop whining?”
Heh, I know this is a silly topic, but with the lack of news lately…

GuestTake one guitar-playing director, add orchestrators, simmer on a gentle heat of sequencers, serve with flamenco garnish and a dash of deja vu. Ah well, better than a pop song score. :o)

ParticipantY’see, for some reason I always get defensive about Robert Rodriguez.
Personally, I enjoy his scores, I thought the action cues in Spy Kids 3D were pretty shweet, and I liked what he did for Once Upon a Time in Mexico, even though I’ve not actually seen the flick yet.
But sod it, we’re here to talk about Elfman. He rocks.
