“There are five other new arrivals on the classical chart this week. Top among them, at no. 5, is Serenada Schizophrana, the first-ever concert work for orchestra by Danny Elfman, best-known as the composer for director Tim Burton’s films, from Batman to Beetlejuice, Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure and The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

I thought it was funny to tune into the XM Pops station and hear Serenada playing!

Funny, I was listening to the regular radio and I heard Danny too… only it was his voice, saying, “A tragic tale of passion, romance, AND A MURDER MOST FOUL!” It was a promo for the ABC Family airing of Corpse Bride (just ended as I type, and I am PISSED that they didn’t play the End Credits tracks). They played a bonus feature afterwards, and I was hoping it’d be a music featurette, but it was just the DVD one about the voices in the movie. Afterwards they played a “This is Halloween” “music video” with a terribly chopped-up version of the song. I guess we’ll just have to wait to hear the whole thing with the 3-D movie, huh? My off-topicness if awful lately.

Good for it hitting the charts… but I just wish it hit my mailbox, finally. I don’t remember waiting for an Amazon parcel any longer. Or maybe just time stretches when you check the mailbox 10 times a day…
