ParticipantExtremely tragic. I don’t even know what to say, she was a gifted composer who just cannot be replaced.

KeymasterShirley was one of the best people I’ve ever had the opportunity to talk with. She was always kind to me, and helpful when it came to her website. She was truly thrilled that people enjoyed her music. I am in shock here.

ParticipantVery sad news, as she was a very talented composer and apparently a very sweet person. Rest in peace, Shirley.

ParticipantThis year is starting to look like a horrible repeat of 2004, the year that saw the loss of Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein, and David Raksin. Both Walker and Basil Poledouris were incredibly talented composers whom I always thought deserved more recognition. It is sad to see them gone.
