GuestWow. I thought I had heard all of Danny Elfman’s stuff. I didn’t even know this existed. Apparently, there was an old show on tv called Sledgehammer that Danny did the theme to. I had never even heard of the show. I downloaded the song, and it was a great song! I’m just not positive on if this was really Danny. If anyone can confirm this I would greatly appreciate it.

GuestI believe it is a confirmed fact that Elfman did write the theme for a television show called Sledgehammer, though I’ve never heard it myself. But whether the file you downloaded is correctly labelled, is another matter entirely! But yeah, that’s probably it, it’s probably legitimate.

GuestIt’s available on a commercial release too. It was the only reason I got the TVT compilation of TV themes entitled: Television’s Greatest Hits – Cable Ready. It also contains the actually recordings of the themes to The Simpson and Tales From the Crypt along with 62 other various TV themes.

GuestI grew up in the eighties watching that show on Saturday aftternoons. I don’t know how good it actually is, but in it’s time, it seemed to me that it rocked. It was not until later in life that I realized Elfman had done the theme, although I’ve been able to whistle it since I was eight, long before film music had actually become a hobby.
