GuestHello. Does anyone here have So-Lo, and if so, what do you think of it? I had to pay forty dollars for it on half.com and I think it was worth every penny.

Guest$40?? oh my god! really? my friend bought it for me at a record and cassette store for three bucks! (unfortunatly, it was lost inside my tape deck in a car accident. ::tears:
but i think i remember seeing it at amoeba music for like twelve dollars on CD..i really did appreciate it when i had it.. those fine eight months.. i think i might pay forty dollars to have cool city back again.. thank gods for the songs on anthology.. but i want the lighning song!”alright. this whine was basically to show my love of the record and my remorse for its parting.

GuestI think I got my copy at Amazon for around $12 bucks–sorry, but it sounds like you got ripped off!

GuestWow. Man, you really paid way too much for that CD. Try E-Bay.

GuestI like So-Lo.
I would pay 40 bucks for it if that was the only way, but you probably could have gotten it for a lot cheaper.
Don’t remember how much I paid for it. I got it as a cassette when it came out and got the CD a little later.
One of my faves is “Go Away.” It’s so ’80’s sounding.January 15, 2003 at 8:26 pm #43768Anonymous
GuestI couldn’t find So-Lo any cheeper any place else. It went for the same price on ebay. I actually found a factory sealed copy on ebay that went for fifty, I can’t get it on Amazon because it’s out of print. It’s too rare. I couldn’t find it anywhere but half. com and ebay and I felt i had a better chance of straight up buying something on half than hoping i wont get outbid on ebay. I use ebay more than half anyway though. I kept hoping for a lower price on half.com but no one wanted to sell it for less than forty. I got my money’s worth though. It’s in excellent condition.

GuestOuch!!!! I sold my tape for pennies a few years back, not realizing it was out of print. Just recently, I thought I’d try to buy it again. They told me it was out of print. Now I’m finding out it’s that much???????????. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

GuestThe same thing happened to me while collectiong Boingo CD’s. All the times i saw BOI-NGO and Good for Your Soul on the shelf, and i never got either of them until it was too late and they were out of print. I went through hell to get them over the internet, but I didn’t have to pay as much for them as I did for So-Lo. Now I have all the official Boingo albums, So-Lo and now all I need is the Forbidden Zone Soundtrack and the Boingo E.P. which actually goes pretty cheap on Ebay. Then I’ll be set. And it’s great because I can copy LP’s to CD’s, so I’ll be able to listen to the Boingo E.P. when ever I want. I just hope I can salvage one.

GuestI wish I would have held onto my Oingo Boingo records… er, vinyls.
I have the 4 song EP on cassette and have passed it up at used record stores and want to kick my own a** for that, now.I do have a Dark at the End of the Tunnel CD that’s a single of “skin” and has the album cover art printed right on the CD. I can’t, for the life of me, remember where I picked that one up. Is it a promotional CD, or what? Anyone know?

GuestOkay, this is strange….I got the majority of my Boingo c.d.s at Amazon, not even a year ago. So, did they just suddenly go out of print, or is it some bizarre Twilight Zone deal?

GuestHi guys
(Esp. Beth, Match-Girl, Chris…)Don’t kill me Ryan – lol – but I’d be happy to sell my copy of So-Lo for $20.
I’m sure I could get 40 if I really tried on Ebay, but I like hanging out here, and I appreciate fellow fans.
My copy was bought brand new in 1997. I have listened to it right through only about 3 times, so it’s in pretty pristine condition (It’s on CD).
I actually don’t like it as much as my 30 other Danny albums (covers head expecting abuse). But if anyone wants to buy it from me, just email me:
I live in NZ so I might need a couple of dollars for postage, but if anyone is interested, we can organize that.
Hope this is all OK Ryan – its an original album, and we’re all fans here – lol. I’m only responding because there seems to be interest.
Best wishes,
Toby.

Guestokay kidz, I have no idea where you guys are finding all your high priced stuff, but start small…I found So-Lo for $3 last summer in a college town CD Warehouse. I just bought two weeks ago So-Lo viynl for $7 at a vintage record shop. I have plowed through every music store in my area at least twice before things started drying up. I stupidly passed on the 1994 Boingo special edition with the extra nifty booklet of artwork(I think that’s what is was) thinking “I’ll get it later…” STUPID ME. Anyhoo, if you’re in the Dallas Ft. Worth area there are plenty of places to pick from, if you need help. I found a PILE of 1987 Boi-Ngo 5 Record sets at one shop in particular that also had So-Lo on cassette. I found the Anthology used for $16 without even trying and got it for a friend; and it’s in awesome condition. And none of this was on the internet, guys. Start in your area. Someone will turn one in not knowing what they have in their hands, and the stupid little gothling record store clerks won’t have a freakin’ clue of it’s value either. Just keep looking around and don’t crack a smile until you’ve paid for it and got it in your car. Then laugh mercilessly at the stupid people that gave up your great Boingo find! Good luck for those without Danny’s Nightmare Before Xmas, I was told it’s out of print and I had a very good friend who worked at a CD Warehouse that caught one for me–I paid him back with the Anthology I mentioned earlier. Friends in record stores are a good thing, too. All these little things are how I got my whole Boingo collection on CD in about 4 months (after I bought 7 CDs in one day!) It can happen. happy hunting, lumplings

GuestThe original release of Nightmare is out of print, but there was a remastered edition released by Disney Records last year at a mid-budget price (about $11.99) – we have it my FYE store. They have recently been remastering a lot of their back catalogue, and one of the best was the Tron score by Wendy Carlos (which is offered on CD now for the first time). And at those prices, those two scores can’t be beat!
