In the movie Pee wee Wakes up and plays a record. What is the song that is playing? Is it an origanl piece written for the movie or is it a needle drop?
It’s not listed on imdb, and I checked the end credits myself to see if it was credited and it’s not. I dont think it’s original, it might well be some obscure library music, or something Paul Reubens had. The record in the film says Decca on it, but it needn’t be the actual record playing. So sorry, don’t know.
(And a needle-drop is when songs from a record are digitised using special software, sorry, OCD).
Needle-drop is also slang for library music…
I too have always wanted to know and frankly suspected it to be from an old record. But it was on the isolated score on the old DVD and in stereo, sounding quite crisp and clean – so it may have been an original piece after all. I’ve never seen or heard it anywhere else.
