GuestNow, I do love Elfman’s music a lot, but considering Horner is my favourite, well, ya know what I mean! Like I said before, Elfman uses the same rhythm of strings, to create tension, in practically all of his pieces. “That’s not style (and I quote) that’s lazy.” Oh yeah, and you can plagerise yourself – duh! Horner’s themes are completely different from each other, but you can still recognise his style. That’s the same with Elfman. What’s with that? You guys seem to ignore the fact that Elfman is just the same as every other composer. He has different themes, but the same style. Got me? So please, JUST GET OFF MY BACK!!

GuestA full seven percent of the entire Irish barley crop goes to the production of Guinness beer.

GuestIs there a problem with Horner fans being able to state their love of the Horned one on other sites? Why do they insist to come here? I didn’t realize that they were that shunned? Maybe we should give you pity then, would that help? That is what it looks like to me.
As I’ve stated before, I’m a big fan of his earlier work but I find his recent scores frustrating. Give me SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISHER over TITANIC any day.

Guestugh. more talk of horner and all his -ness. we have established that composers each have a different style. right. we have established that they tend to stay with their style in most of their films. right. since elfman is a composer, and horner is a composer, they both fall into the characteristics of a – you know.
i think the people at this site love elfman and treat him like a very special composer. he is a special composer because I love his work. one thing that really is special about him is that he is primarily self-taught, so he doesn’t fall into most composer’s rules.
maybe, these people who’d rather talk of horner should go off into a site entitled, ‘music for a sunken people’ and yimmer-yammer about how great he is, but please! unless you have something to say to the elfman fans, leave us alone!
lexi: an all around cranky individual.

GuestIt was a joke….and i doubt Guiness would put their stats on the bottle.

GuestI know it was a joke.
Should I start a thread about people on this board not giving due respect to Guiness beer?
Like yeah, Elfman is a great composer and all, butRyaaaaannnnn,
what about the beer!July 26, 2002 at 5:51 am #41052Anonymous
GuestHm…Canada has great beer. I was just there last week, and experienced the joy of Canadian beers for myself…
But bringing this back to Elfman, which type of beer do you suppose he enjoys – if any? Rickards’ or Guiness, do you suppose? Hm…
*Note to anybody who answers this:
I’m an Elf-fan, but I really don’t, nor do I have any desire to, think about what kind of alcohol he drinks…July 28, 2002 at 1:45 pm #41091Anonymous
