Since I was a kid, I’ve kept video scrapbooks of things that have interested me. Basically when something cool was on TV, I’d tape it and compile it.
I had a tape of some really cool things: reports on PLANET OF THE APES, an interview with Elfman on CNN around POTA’s release, a lengthy interview with Bruce Campbell on a local night time talk show during his book tour, the A&E Biography on Tim Burton, and a whole lot more.
Well, my sister decided to use that tape to record her daily episodes of mother-bleeping CORONATION STREET, the warbling UK soap opera, populated with pudding faces. She recorded over every centimeter of the video. 2 hours of CORONATION STREET. Now, I’ll forever hate that show (well, more then I already do) and I’ll never be able to replace that video tape. Truly sad.

Ryan, I have *most* of what you listed on a tape. I know it can never replace the full extent of what you had, but if you’d like a copy, email me. I think I have the MTV POTA thing, the CNN thing, some elfman and some other composer thing is what the CNN was I think… also some stuff off of E! I caught the Burton Biography too. It’s all crammed on tape. I was working on MPEGing it all but my computer crapped out on me and I haven’t been able to get any freebie site to accept files that large so I gave up. VHS I can do though.
uh.. er.. pammy? I was just wondering if maybe I could have a copy of that vhs? or are ryan and you friends who do favors for only eachother.. I’d understand..

Hey Mack – good suggestion, only I kept the tab on the tape because there was still room for more near the end. Keeping the tab off meant I could slam the tape into the VCR quickly in case I came across anything out of the blue.
