    Mine are-
Nightmare Before Christmas (No. 1 overall, but I have yet to hear all of Black Beauty)
    Black Beauty (Possibly no. 1)
    Edward Scissorhands
    Batman
    Spiderman

I love Sommersby and Dolores Claiborne, but have not yet heard the full score (I have Music for a Darkened Theatre No. 2)

Yeah, Black Beauty is the most amazing score I’ve ever heard. I guess it’s just the Irish in me though! :) I payed 45 buckaroos on e-bay for my copy and I’ll tell ya it was well worth it!

Nightmare is the ultimate, as I love his vocals as well as or above the music.
Batman, Pee-Wee, Edward and Betelguese in interchangable order after that, depending on mood. Oh, yeah, and Men in Black.

Awwe, you guys don’t think Pee-Wee is the greatest? I LOVE it! It’s probably my favorite Elfman piece. Nightmare Before XMas is at a close second, Beetlejuice at 3rd and after that, I love em all!

B – Erin Go Bragh! (Or however you spell it…ironically enough, I’ve seen several different spelling of it). Yeah, it’s gotta be the Irish heritage that makes the score so near-and-dear :-) Although I have to admit that the Irish “sound” isn’t nearly as definitive as in a few more “well known” scores, which I greatly appreciate (and to avoid causing yet another controversy, I will refrain from naming those scores). It’s the kind of subtle, romantic melacholy that makes me all weepy this time of year…I have yet to find a score to top it, at least in terms of sentimental value.

-E (who is mostly Irish and has always wanted long, red hair, yet has a German last name and short blonde hair…go figure!)

I think Edward Scissorhands is probably the sauciest, with perhaps BeetleJuice as a close second….then, there’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Batman Returns, and Spider-man in no particular order.

I think I always tend to place Edward at the top, because I like the use of the chorus and all (plus, having nothing to do with Danny, it was Vincent’s last film, and he was a rather snazzy actor)!

I like BeetleJuice, because I probably spent the vast majority of my childhood wishing I was Lydia, and my best friend was some dead guy….(sometimes, I still wish I was friends with a dead guy)!

And I think The Nightmare Before Christmas is really fantastic, just because everything about it fit so well together. (And no offense to Chris, but I think the only thing that could’ve made the movie even better is if Danny did the voice-voice of Jack, and not just the singing parts).

I pick Batman Returns over Batman, just because it has all of the same elements as the first, and then some. I especially think the the main titles are saucy as hell in that one!

And Spider-man got picked, just because it’s one of my latest obsessions. (He can do anything a spider can, you know)….

favorite scores of Danny’s (not an easy task)
1)The Nightmare Before Christmas-What’s to say? It’s Danny At his best!Who doesn’t love a singing skeleton??

2)Edward Scissorhands-The only score i know of that can make you happy yet depressed at the same time.Everytime i listen to it i get chills..and that’s very rare for me.

3)Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure (two words: Breakfast Machine!!)

    4)Black Beauty- gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous…..

    5)Batman Returns- Pure evil at it’s best…

6)Beetlejuice- If you were to combine a circus with a tango class and mix in a funeral…you’d have thia CD…

xmasgrl83 (these are in no particular order..except nightmare…lol)

    I needed ten:

    1 – Nightbreed
    2 – Batman Returns
    3 – Mars Attacks!
    4 – Freeway
    5 – To Die For
    6 – Sleepy Hollow
    7 – Mission: Impossible
    9 – Beetlejuice
10 – The Nightmare Before Christmas

Elfman’s lesser known scores (Nightbreed, To Die For, Freeway) get overlooked too often.

The top 5 Elfman scores are obviously…
    1) Edward Scissorhands – HELLO!! Have you listened to The Grand Finale lately?! THANK U!
    2) Batman – The theme…thunderous, the finale…stirring, overall incredible)
    3) Men In Black – The synth may have pissed some people off but hey! I dont care what they think!
    4) Sleepy Hollow – People may hate me for this but its one of my favorites, scary, bass-heavy, choral, ominous, just friggin’ creepy.
    5) Spider-Man – Even though its new, it still swings it way onto my list of favorites. The synths here are good as well.

Other very, very good ones are…
    1) Darkman – Thick orchestrations, very dramatic, very good
    2) Beetlejuice – The funniest theme he has yet to produce. Its just goofy!
    3) Dick Tracy – People say its just re-arranged notes from Batman, but I don’t happen to think so.
    4) Red Dragon – Better than Zimmer’s Hannibal, better than Shore’s Silence of the Lambs (even though many people disagree). Tense, taut, tantalizing, and suspenseful.
    5) The Family Man – It wont be released on score CD, which really pisses me off. The love theme from Spider-Man is like the love theme here. The grand finale here doesn’t even come close to compare to the Scissorhands finale, but still very good.

Thats my post and im stickin to it!
