GuestI just read on comingsoon.net that Brett Ratner has been confirmed to be the director for SUPERMAN !
So this brings up the question:
Will Elfman do Superman too, rounding out the big 3 superheroes?I think it will come down to Elfman’s relationship with Ratner. If he has a great working relationship with him, then he probably will do it for him if ask, but I have read where Danny would like to take it easy for a while. But then again this movie probably won’t start shooting until late next year (if then), so Danny would have a lot of time (say probably 2004 summer release?). Just some thoughts.
What do you think?
Also in the article is states that Anthony Hopkins is interested in the role of Jor-El.
It’s a bird… it’s a plane… no… it’s… a gNat!!!

GuestWho the heck is Brett Ratner and why do we want him to do a Superman movie?
Note: I know who he is but his resume isn’t impressive IMO

GuestIf a rather “normal” director like Richard Donner did a good job on the first Superman flick, I guess that Brett Ratner can do the same.

GuestI’m a pretty much a comic geek by any standard–and I hate Superman! But, I suppose I’d actually have to go and see it if Danny ends up doing the score. I tell ya, the things I do….

Guesthope he won’t !
i think that after Spiderman 2, he should really stop doing super-hero score. Better stop when you’re at the top

GuestBut he was at the top when he did Batman Returns and MIB… if he would have stopped either of those times, we wouldn’t have had Spiderman – the best score of the year right now (Red Dragon coming though???) IMHO.

GuestI think I dislike Superman because he’s not “dark” enough for me. I can’t really see Elfman doing Superman, but then again, I wasn’t really able to see him doing MIB, and definitely not MIIB…maybe he’ll surprise us!

GuestI’ll probably see it, just because.. you know.. but i can’t gaurentee i’ll enjoy it, (specially if nicholas cage strars in it. wait. that’s another superman story.) maybe i’ll just leave the theatre after the main titles. nah. waste of 8 bucks. who knows? maybe it’ll be cool!
I don’t like superman for a few reasons. firstly, he and batman are opposites and i like batman best. nextly, the villains in batman have a reason for being, usually they are insane yet you can feel simpathy for them; however, in superman we have these stupid aliens with little or no reason for being bad. (minus lex luthor. he’s just blah.) I base my opinions on only one movie and several cartoons, so i may not know. but from what i saw, i didn’t like it.
lexi: my opinions may be off, but my purose is meaningful. so there Thppppppppt.
p.s. thppppppt is a toungue noise.. kinda

GuestThe reasons I don’t like Superman….well, there’s just too many to list. I will say that it is my general opinion that he’s a pansy. (And that would not be pansy in the slang term that is occasionally used to insult gays, but just as a blunt insult to all which is Superman-ish)!
