So his film music will be part of it somehow ? Weird but exciting !

Yes, saw his update on Insta and Face. Obviously wish I could have gone; mostly curious about what Boingo songs he will perform. And what kind of film music he’ll play, and with what ensemble (he says “From Boing to Batman and Beyond”, whatever that means). It’s a shame if he appears without the old Boingo crew; would be a unique chance for a reunion of sorts.

Sounds like we’ll be hearing some of the oratorio he’s been working on.

Looks like “the real world” that is outside the matrix.

Well… I expected this to happen. Coachella is canceled and postponed to October.

Here’s the Coachella scoop from Score: The Podcast:

“They tried to get me for years. A Boingo reunion’s not gonna happen, because I just have a thing about reunions and I can’t do it… Then at a certain point they said ‘do a film thing’ — Hans [Zimmer] did a film thing — and I said I can’t do that without a big orchestra and feel right with myself. We’ve been doing film concerts for seven years now, and when I do a film concert, it’s a film concert. There’s 120 people on stage with the choir and the orchestra. But then he [Coachella promoter Paul Tollett] flew me out there and I saw the screens and the whole set up and I said, ‘wait a minute there’s a way to do this,’ that’s mixing everything for my last 40 years together – bits of film, bits of songs, probably maybe Oingo Boingo songs, and at that same time I’ve been working on this new stuff that I had in my mind and I thought oh my God I could premiere this new work. Suddenly it all made sense and I said I can do this and I will do it.”

    Re the Coachella postponement:

“It was horrible. I had put three months of intense work into prepping. Unlike almost anybody else out there, I was creating a show from scratch, from nothing. I had to hire a band. I had to put together arrangements. I had to figure out what it was. Rearrange orchestral music. It was so much work, and we were just at the point where the band was together and we’re starting to actually sound good and I was getting really excited.”

Always funny to hear that Helena Bonham Carter comment’s story because I think I actually saw them exchanging indeed right before he entered the stage, as I could view part of the backstage from my seat.

Elfman’s on the 2022 line-up. Got a pretty prominent billing, too.

From what I read, he totally owned that stage. Lots of very enthusiastic reviews online.

And well, don’t forget to check archive.org, just sayin’…

Yeah, people are absolutely loving it.

And, yes, 90% of tweets about it are full of thirst for Danny. What a time.
