I’m just going to quote what I’ve said elsewhere:
I’m the biggest Elfman nut in the world, but this is one of the most pointless releases I’ve seen in a long, long time – an example of a CD release frequency totally out of control. Not only is the existing album WIDELY AVAILABLE, it’s also MORE than long enough already. In fact, it’s way too bombastic and “sturm-und-drangey” for me to sit through THE WAY IT IS NOW! I always have to mentally prepare for this album, and even then it’s a chore. Releasing an expanded version of this is like kicking you when you’re down and exhausted from listening.
HOWEVER, it was a cool surprise, and judging from the response, I’m sure there’s a market for it. So good luck, LaLaLand.
Agreed. And Thor, last time I checked (last month), the score is not widely available, otherwise I would have owned it by now. That said, I am anticipating this release quite highly.
I wish someone like LaLaLand would rerelease Black Beauty! Am I the only one? Oh and that is totally exciting Ryan!

By the way, I didn’t know that this had become hard to get. I seem to see it everywhere, both off and online. But if is indeed that, then I guess it’s great to have it available again. But a reissue would have sufficed.
I too could never find BLACK BEAUTY, that is until I checked it out from my local library…!
Seriously, look into that as a possibility. I found that and “scores” of other scores there. And it was free!
I bought the DVD to explicitly make a CD from the Isolated Score(having already purchased the album and was disappointed by the exclusion of certain cues, but that always happens), but this will definitely be better sound quality! I concur, Black Beauty is another score that DESERVES a re-release. Also Warner Brothers has until June 19 to get their act in gear and release a complete score for Batman(and Returns), otherwise I’ll boycott them.
Well, maybe not boycott, but I’ll crab about it if they don’t.
I’ve had that Red Planet Records bootleg CD for years. does anyone else have that? I got it on ebay a long time ago. its a silver-pressed CD, not CD-R.
but anyway, this release has unreleased alternate cues.
i wonder if that main title orch demo is just danny and his synthesizers.

Me too! I’m excited about the alternate tracks. And I forgot Danny scored the trailer! He also did that for Men in Black, right?
I’ve just read that there are less than 500 copies of MARS remaining. So you better act quick… Now shipping June 2nd.
