Van Sant and Matt Damon are reteaming for this 2013 drama. Sounds like a likely Elfman gig.
August 23, 2012 at 11:20 pm #67580ddddeeeeParticipantIt’s now set for release at the end of this year, I guess that means no Elfman.
August 24, 2012 at 6:28 am #67581DannyBikerParticipantWhere did you get that info ?
August 24, 2012 at 1:04 pm #67585ddddeeeeParticipantAugust 24, 2012 at 7:18 pm #67586iggybiggyParticipantI saw on Facebook, that Richard Elfman recently posted a picture of himself and Gus Van Sant. Richard said that Gus was around because he was working with his brother Danny, so I’m thinking that Danny is doing this project. I will see if I can dig up some more information from my sources.
August 24, 2012 at 7:31 pm #67587ddddeeeeParticipantThat would be great. Elfman sure likes to keep himself busy.
EDIT: I was just thinking, Elfman said he recorded Frankenweenie in London during the weekend of the Royal Jubilee, around the 5th of June or so. That was almost three months ago, what’s he been doing since? It’s surely too early for Oz or Epic so maybe his contributions to this (if he is doing it) and/or Silver Linings Playbook are more significant than we think.
August 24, 2012 at 11:35 pm #67588iggybiggyParticipantI have confirmed that Danny is indeed doing the score for Promised Land. By the dates I was given, it is done already.
I was also told he is doing Hitchcock in the begining of October, Oz in December, Epic in February.
August 25, 2012 at 12:05 am #67589ddddeeeeParticipantWow! Thanks for the confirmation.
August 25, 2012 at 12:02 pm #67590bookbinder3ParticipantIs that the Hitchcock biopic with Anthony Hopkins? That will be awesome.
August 26, 2012 at 3:28 am #67593iggybiggyParticipantYes, it is the Anthony Hopkins movie.
August 27, 2012 at 5:53 am #67595lonzoeParticipantWow it seems that Elfman’s been keeping busy, which is cool.
August 30, 2012 at 11:52 am #67597Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterYesterday Clint Mansell re-tweeted something about recording the score for HITCHCOCK. Is he scoring or is Danny?
August 30, 2012 at 9:39 pm #67600MonsterheadParticipantI saw that too. It looked like it was someone else re-scoring a silent Hitchcock movie. The TwitPic showed a pretty low-fi set up.
August 30, 2012 at 10:55 pm #67602bookbinder3ParticipantI can confirm that it’s merely a new score for a silent film.
September 21, 2012 at 7:43 pm #67612ddddeeeeParticipantTrailer.
November 24, 2012 at 12:28 am #67676ddddeeeeParticipantElfman’s listed on the FYC site. So is it safe to assume he wrote a fair bit of music?
November 24, 2012 at 12:53 am #67677bookbinder3ParticipantA whole album up also. It’s very good. Hope it gets a proper release.
November 24, 2012 at 1:41 am #67678lonzoeParticipantHopefully. I’m still upset about the circumstances of the Silver Linings Playbook score release.
November 24, 2012 at 1:58 pm #67679ddddeeeeParticipantHeh, didn’t even notice the album playing. Sounds good. Milk meets The Next Three Days.
November 26, 2012 at 7:38 pm #67687dr.gigglesParticipantYes this is very Pleasant. Question, why would Focus Features put all of the out takes from “the turn around” on the FYC site? Don’t get me wrong, I love it, just don’t think most people do.
November 27, 2012 at 12:31 am #67682MonsterheadParticipantThe music that is currently streaming on Focus Features is the same as the FYC Promo that is floating around. I’m really warming up to this music. This was a nice year for Elfman fans, but I feel like I’ve been saying that every year…
December 29, 2012 at 5:04 pm #67706ddddeeeeParticipantNow on iTunes.
December 29, 2012 at 6:10 pm #67707LambegueParticipantWill there be any physical release ?
January 17, 2013 at 4:55 pm #67724ddddeeeeParticipantYes in Europe. Will be released on the 15th of April.
January 18, 2013 at 12:03 am #67725bookbinder3ParticipantGlad I didn’t splash out on the promo now!
