Here’s a link to a little something I made a good while ago. It’s themes from Elfman’s major movies from ’85-’02 all run together. At the time, I was just playing around with CoolEdit my experiments ended with this as a result. I don’t care if you don’t like; it’s a fairly amateur job. If I did the same thing now I probably could do a little better. Anyways, here it is. (Encoded in 128 kbps)

By the way you may want to try downloading this only if you have broadband since it is about 10.7 megs. But don’t let me stop you if you don’t.

Pretty good. I liked this little suite of Elfman’s work. Keep up the good work.

Although I kind of wish the Penguin’s theme and more Nightmare clips were included. Mostly just equaling the length of the song cues, too. But it is an amateur effort and you did a LOT better than what I could have done!

I like the way the tempos matched. Nice job.

    LOVED it!

You should consider doing a Volume II of that. The J wrote:

Hahah! This is very good! You should consider going back and doing some better crossfading some of those transitions, though, because this is very nice.

Wow! Wasn’t expecting such feeback! I will probably add Big Fish and Hulk to it when Spider-man 2 comes out, which will definitely be on there, too.

Also, if you liked this consider visiting my next post…:)

I like! I’m a bit embarassed to admit that this was the first time that I heard the music from Red Dragon, but it’s really cool! Large use of Spider-Man, my favorite score, very nice…a bit too much MiB. You should make your next version include Spider-Man 2, Hulk, and Big Fish, but also some of the other films that weren’t covered here, like Dick Tracy, Good Will Hunting, Army of Darkness, Darkman, that kinda stuff. Can’t wait to hear Volume 2!

I absolutely loved it. If possible, do you think you can upload the MP3 and send it to me by e-mail (just click on my name above)? I would love to save it to my computer. You’ve demonstrated a true understanding of Elfman’s music.

    Best Regards,
    Dylan

That is pretty good. Would you mind if I posted that link on other message boards (giving you proper credit, of course)?

Of course. Like you said, give me credit.

(For proper credit, real name is Duncan Bohannon).

    Cool. Thanks.

(BTW, the reason I’d like to post it on other sites is because I think it is good “advertising” for Elfman–it gives people who aren’t already fans the chance to hear some highlights from his whole career in one file under twelve minutes. Again, nice job!)

Some have asked me to make it easier to download, so here’s a better link for saving on your drive.

A happy cry or sad cry?

Glad to see Mars Attacks, Planet of the Apes, and Sleepy Hollow worked in there.

I always, as a general rule of thumb, encourage creativity in some shape or form. It makes young bloods rebellious and EVIL! Keep it up.

    Duncan,

The idea of putting Elfman’s career into a suite in 12 or so minutes inspired me to add on to yours…I made a section with Black Beauty/ Darkman (the love theme waltz)/ Big Fish (the underwater music and about 1:40-4:10 of that magnificent finale, which is THEE perfect cue to end a 12 minute suite of Elfman’s career). I made a few other adjustments here and there…I’ll upload it and send it to you to see what you think.

And that’s great that Tiffany was that touched by your endeavor. She might just cry all over again with that Big Fish finale added on to close this brief summation of Elfman’s career.
