GuestI just got to thinking, how cool would it be if there were someone else that was as much an Elfman-aholic as I am within at least a 10-mile radius? Probably not very likely, (us “Danny dorks” may not be all that common). But you don’t know until you ask.
I live in southern Indiana, about 15-20 minutes across the river (Ohio river) from Louisville, Kentucky (because I live so close to Kentucky, it’s usually called “Kentuckiana”). So are there any other Hoosiers, Kentuckians, or Kentuckianans (I think I just made that up, never heard that one before) here? Speak out darkened people!

GuestWell, I lived in northwest Indiana (Valparaiso) until I was 19… I was a pretty big Elfman fan that whole time. Yes, I was pretty far away from where you live, but it’s a Hoosier connection none the less…

GuestTucson AZ. If there are any other Elfman fans here, I’ll faint. Given how many scores of his I found (and promptly bought) in a couple of our used CD places today, I’m thinking I’m alone.

GuestLytle, TX (A small town about 15 miles southwest of San Antonio down IH 35)
Here everyone is an Elfman fan. We have a statue of him in front of our city hall. His music is boomed out of his temple, into our streets and hearts, 24 hours a day. Every night we gather in the Church of Elfman (which has no roof by the way), so that we can show our thanks to Master Danny under the moon, which is always full. After our midnight ceremony we exit the temple, into the cemetery, where we dig out the graves of our dead, and pry open the coffins to replace the batteries in the CD players (soon to be replaced with iPods) that we leave inside. This way, Danny can be enjoyed even in death. Sure, our nights are full, but no one here wakes up before 5:00 PM anyway. Too bad all you “want-to-be Elfman fans” can’t join us.
Actually, Danny Elfman is known only as a name in The Simpsons credits if for anything at all.

GuestD – Actually, we have our own church here in Tornado Alley as well, and it’s not what you see in “Children of the Corn,” either. See, our church is the Temple of the Holy Huskers (as in American football, man). Too bad for those of us who are football athiests. The gods were irritated enough to plant me at the source of the “sea of red!”
N – way to bring out the state pride, man. Nebraska might be “fringe” – to use a fellow poster’s comment – to some, but if you look in the right places, you’ll find that we’re not dead and buried in the least
Saddle Creek Records, tornado weather like nobody’s business…and Chimney Rock…lol.-E

GuestI’m in Ohio. Always have been–probably always will be. Not too many people know Danny around here.
Once in a great while, I’ll happen upon someone who at least kinda knows who he is (or Tim–seems you can’t have one without the other).
But I’ve yet to find anyone who knows of Danny and Oingo Boingo and actually has the scores and songs to prove it. Based on that alone, it’s safe to say Ohio sucks. But eh, it’s a place, you know?

GuestErm… Calgary, Alberta… yes, (believe it or not) in Canada.
The only people that have even heard the name Danny Elfman that I have ever met are my friends, subject to the daily torment of my obsession.
