GuestI’m having a major brain fart. I can’t figure out if Kidnap the SANDY Claws is in Cb Maj. or Ab minor. I have been staring at it all day. It sounds minor but sometimes Major can sound like minor. Ugh, Help me.

Guesty do u need to know? if ur writting an arrangement or sumthing it wont matter whether it in Ab minor of Cb Major, the end product will still sound the same

hope that answers ur question a little
(p.s he is right sometimes major and minor do sound the same key signature wise)

Guestyea he means that Ab minor shares the same key signature as Cb major, it is known as the relative minor and major. now since the piece is minor, u wud say that its in ab minor rather than Cb major.

GuestElfman has a tendency to change keys in mid-song. Don’t worry about it.

Guestjust to clarify, Ab minor and Cb major are two completely different keys, yes, Ab minor is the relative minor, means nothing, if youre arranging it you should at the very least know the tonality, if its in Ab minor, there are several hallmarks you can look for the most obvious one being the raised 7th. And major never EVER sounds like minor
