Today, June 23, 2009 is the 20th anniversary of Batman! In other words, it’s the 20th anniversary of the most important score in Danny Elfman’s career. It’s the score AND movie that took him to the A-List.

It sounds so raw, so alive, is that because of being recorded in analog?
No other Elfman score has that sound, which I can only compare with Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound.

The only ones I think that come close to achieving it are Giacchino’s scores, which he does record in analog.
