Today, June 23, 2009 is the 20th anniversary of Batman! In other words, it’s the 20th anniversary of the most important score in Danny Elfman’s career. It’s the score AND movie that took him to the A-List.

Can I just say that I ADORE the sound of this recording?

It sounds so raw, so alive, is that because of being recorded in analog?

No other Elfman score has that sound, which I can only compare with Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound.

Where have you been? The cover says “A Digital Recording”! :)

It took a week for you guys to acknowledge the 20th anniversary. Better late than never, I guess.

Well, it’s the anniversary of a score. A damn good one. But still a score…

Heh, I know it’s a digital recording, but you know what I mean, no other recording in the past few years has that “open/airy” quality.

The only ones I think that come close to achieving it are Giacchino’s scores, which he does record in analog.
