GuestWhat a massive letdown the film was. It looks beautiful and for the most part, Batman and Joker were all fans of the comic could wish for (Joker’s voice was a bit wacky…). But the “cameo appearances” you mentioned were so annoying and out of left field (and yes, I know about the crossover issues…) that it really ruined the experience of what fans were pronouncing “the best Batman film ever”. Worth a look, but if you’re a big Batman fan, don’t expect to be blown away. Hey, it does have some Elfman Batman cues in it at best!

GuestAgree with Steven. Joker’s voice “suxx” (I use that term and sp. only to describe this perf. of the Joker). There’s zero story here. Batman, the Joker, an Alien AND the Predator all happen to end up in the same alley in Gotham?
Nice production design, nice costumes. But I’m not going to let a guy in a cool PREDATOR suit put stars in my eyes. Batman deserves better!

GuestOn a scale of 1 to 10:
Visuals: 10
Acting: 6
“Script”: 0
Dumb-ass fanboy wet dream cameos: 1
Overall: 4Sorry if anyone dug it, but great visuals don’t automatically make a great movie, period.

Guestthe film was ****….the bat costume and joker looked great. i think it was just a couple of people messin around…i do that all the time…without the classy costumes ofcourse. i dont think it should be taken TOO seriously.

GuestI wouldn’t say it was just messing around. It cost over $30,000 and was shot on 35mm. And the costumes for the stupid cameos were professional caliber. The director made it to show off his talents for potential work, but all Hollywood (and poor audiences) needs now are talented visual filmmakers who can’t tell stories.

GuestI think that was sarcasm, Bodhi.

GuestYou must realize that the filmmakers will not make any money directly from this movie. I’ve made a couple of Fan Films before and it is a good testing ground for Ideas that lead into bigger projects, like the commercial I’m going to shoot, or an original short film that I’m going to be directing starting next week! I’ve done short films before that are nothing but test (no discernable story involved); it’s just a way to show what you COULD do if somebody was considering you for a job.
Besides, how many other people hear would be willing to spend $30,000 on something that they knew they couldn’t make any money from (because if they did they could be sued).

GuestI saw this film at ComicCon in San Diego on a big screen and had a great time watching it! Aside from the director’s use of the film to garner attention for himself, it just feels like a fun little distraction, similar to McG’s “Charlie’s Angels” or something. I think that some people have called “Dead End” the best batfilm ever because it’s a hoot to watch, looks amazing, and doesn’t really do anything offensive with such a beloved character.
I enjoyed the Alien and Predator bits simply because it shows off violent action and plays into the “too stubborn to die” idea that I think is a key component of Batman’s character. It’s light entertainment done well.

GuestLoved it when they used the beginning of “Charge of the Batmobile” when Batman nearly uses his silver Batarang to kill The first Predator.
