Guest“Gratitude” was featured on Elfman’s solo album So-Lo. It was basically Oingo Boingo without John Avilia.

GuestActually, I believe Avila did play on So-Lo (although I could be wrong…maybe his first appearance on an album wasn’t until Dead Man’s Party).

GuestIt was Kerry Hatch on bass for So-lo.
Danny had said in interviews that they were songs that just didn’t quite fit as Oingo Boingo, so they were done under his name.

GuestOf course, a couple of those were later re-released on Oingo Boingo albums (“Gratitude” and “It Only Makes Me Laugh”).

Guestyeah, I guess when no one threw tomatoes at the band for playing those songs live, Danny must have decided they were boingo-ish enough.
I never understood it. I think there were some contractual issues with MCA involved too. I could dig up the articles, but they’re all packed neatly away waiting for me to either die and leave them to a boingo fan or ebay them all off.

GuestNo, Gratitude is a Elfman solo song, which, as far as I know, has many members of Oingo Boingo playing behind him.
