GuestI should also point out that Sony Classical will release the BIG FISH soundtrack album. No further details yet, I’m afraid.

GuestWhat is it? Someone’s predictions/hopes/guesses? Or does the nominating process involve a “placement” phase I’ve never known about?

GuestWhere’s American Splendor? Where’s Lost in Translation? Where’s Kill Bill? You know what i say to that list? Pshhh.
(except for Big Fish. Yay!)

GuestSo the person/persons who made this list have seen all those movies. My guess is that this is nothing but a Buzz List, about as useful (or accurate for that matter) as a preseason top 25 college football poll.

Guest*Snicker* “Top 25 College Football Poll…” Anyone remember Nebraska last year? Let’s hope the movie list is more accurate…

GuestErika,
Funny that you mention Nebraska last year, for it was the college I attended, the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), who beat them in a bowl game last year to snap their winning record streak.Nat

GuestN –
As a fifth-generation native Nebraskan, I have surprisingly little appreciation for American football. Gloat all you want – it’s falling on deaf ears! FYI: my first comment was laid out absolutely dripping with sarcasm…Now, if you were talking about REAL football
, I’d have no other choice than to wave my Manchester United penant like the fringed tassels on a… *ahem* Change in players or no, they’ve still got my loyalty!

GuestSpeaking of REAL football, I think it’s kind of funny that in a year that sees a film about female football being successful (Bend It Like Beckham), and with the women’s world cup being held this year, the US Woman pro Soccer league is disbanded.
It looks like America will never fall in step with the rest of the world; although growing up here in the South our soccer programs were pretty good (I played soccer and baseball growing up). I guess it just doesn’t translate into our capitalist society when you can’t stop the game every 10 minutes for a commercial.
Have you seen BILB by the way? I thought it was one of the better movies this year, although it is formulaic and contains WAY to many montages (the music is also mixed & selected rather poorly).
