GuestI just visited Richard Elfman’s site- on the news page it says Danny’s headed to London to do the recordings.

GuestYeah, what I heard is that Burton wanted to score the picture in London because that’s where his current girl, Helen Bonham Carter, is. No one on Elfman’s team (including Elfman) really wanted to go, perferring to stay in LA with the musicians and studios that they know and work with regurally.
Initially, the few minutes that Elfman wrote for CHICAGO were slated to be recorded in London as well, but they were ultimately done on the Eastwood Stage at Warner Bros. instead. Not sure why, but the prefrences of Elfman and his team might have had something to do with it.
The London decision on BIG FISH good for us because should there be a soundtrack release, it will cheaper (e.g. more likely) for the record label to release a lot of it. It’s good in another way too: the three scores he’s done in London previously (Batman, Black Beauty and Sleepy Hollow) are three of his best. Keep your fingers crossed…
Kinda weird that they’re scoring a movie about the American south in London, though…

GuestI guess it’s like scoring a film about outer space on earth, huh?

GuestHey, let’s not argue over opinion. Even though Elfman’s best in my opinion is the best opinion out there, but that, of course, is just my opinion.

GuestAll courtesy aside, unless you submitted some form of proof of authority on the subject, then the general assumption SHOULD BE that you are speaking your opinion. Why is that people generally assume the opposite? We take opinion as judgement from people who clearly don’t have any authority to judge in the first place…Truly a weird human flaw that we share. I guess people r way too sensitive these days.
