ParticipantI imagined a bit more than 48 minutes of music, but 20 tracks ain’t bad. I almost forgot about Burton main titles. As we did with Big Fish, who wants to take a guess as to whether they circle around an object or follow a character’s journey somewhere?

ParticipantHow can you forget about Burton Main Titles? When i saw the track list my eyes weren’t working and i didnt see the main titles and i started panicking then i saw them and i calmed down! Still a bit short but im sure it’ll seem longer when you hear it! It’s gonna be great! I cannot stand the wait any longer!

ParticipantI just found this post over at the FSM boards:

I’ll be speaking with Danny about Charlie and Corpse this week for FSM and will let you know if anything new and amazing comes to light. The Elfman / Burton collaboration has produced some of the more enduring scores of the past 20 years, and it’s amazing that these two releases are moving Elfman’s music to the forefront only months apart. You do sort of have to wonder if this high profile year will garner Elfman a little awards attention… but I sorta get the feeling he still doesn’t care about that much.
Can’t wait to hear the works, especially Corpse. If CDs could be worn down, my Nightmare Before Christmas disc would be nothing but a nub by this point.

ParticipantHonest but I’m must say that I was hoping more than 48 minutes…
But if we have the main cues, it’s ok. Who knows, maybe there’s not too much music in this one…June 29, 2005 at 10:40 pm #54327Ross Marshall
ParticipantWhoa…track 19…Charlie Declines????? What’s this mean?

ParticipantIt’s all in the book, my friend. The lyrics for the songs are too, for that matter.

ParticipantAs long as we’ve mentioned book adaptations, I’m gonna go off-topic and recommend that everyone sees “War of the Worlds.” I just saw it tonight and it’s amazing. Proceed as usual.

ParticipantTo keep off-topic, is the War of the Worlds movie a book adaptation or radio adaptation?
Hmmm…
June 30, 2005 at 7:48 am #54335Spider-Fan
ParticipantIt’s a combination of elements from the book, radio show, and the old film. Quite splendid, I have to say, plus it’s got the Spielberg touch to it.

ParticipantWilliams goes back and visits the dissonance of Close Encounters too.

ParticipantMan we REALLY got off topic! Well as long as were on the subject, I got a reall sense of terror watching this film and i dont usually get scared from movies! Its only happened twice for me! This and the Doc Ock in the OR scene in Spderman2! WOTW is a really good movie!
