    Speaking of concerts… Jerry Goldsmith’s got one going over here in good ol’ London on the 17th – I’m gonna go see it. Unfortunately, they’re not playing any of my favourite Goldsmith scores (especially The Mummy stuff!), and much of it’s done as a medley (…I HATE medleys – they’re so school wind band!). But they’re gonna play some Looney Toons Back in Action stuff, (which is only just about to come out over here, in a few weeks or something…) so I look forward to that – YAY, Jenna Elfman!

    Now, imagine if Danny DID do concerts – he’s amassed such a following (probably bigger and/or more dedicated than Jerry’s), they might get riots at the ticket offices! hehe. I think the fact that Danny doesn’t conduct would really take away from the magic of having an Elfman concert. You go to see a Goldsmith Concert, you get to see Goldsmith DOING something – conducting. You go to see an Elfman concert, and what would you get? – Shirley Walker conducting, then Danny Elfman talking for a bit, Shirley Walker conducting, then Danny Elfman talking for a bit, Shi– you get the idea. The simple fact that Danny doesn’t conduct may be what stops him doing these things.

    John Williams is doing a concert of his film score from E.T., CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, etc. with the philharmonic orchestra in New York on Feb. 20 (I think that’s the date). He’s no Elfman, but he’s pretty good anyway.

    And Shore is presenting his LOTR Symphony in April in Belgium. I’ve got my tickets…:)

    Well, SchreckSkellington, I’m from Switzerland, and I just bought tickets for New York… When I saw your comment about Williams’ concert in NY, my heart just stopped… That was before I see the real date, which is february 10th !!!!! Just four days BEFORE I get to NY !!!!!!!!! Just bad luck….

    Anyway, do any of you know some stores specialised in movie music in NY ????

    I’m going to learn to play the theremin, and I hope to some day get really good at it.

    Sometime in the future I’d like organize a live concert performance of Elfman’s Mars Attacks!, in which I would play the theremin.

    But this is just wishful thinking. I should probably buy a theremin first.
