Okay, so I’m listening to The Next Three Days on iTunes and then I’m looking at the cover, which reads: ‘Music composed and conducted by Danny Elfman’. Yes, conducted! Is the first score that Danny has conducted himself? It bodes well for future concerts…

That was an error on behalf of the guys who made the album cover (which they have since corrected).

Elfman did NOT conduct this. Rick Wentworth did.

Yeah, it would have been fun. To my knowledge, Danny’s only conducting credit is DEAD PRESIDENTS, and even that is a debated point in certain circles (then again, that score was mostly rock-driven in the first place with some orchestral backing).

My apologies. He should seriously take up the baton, though.

His argument for why he won’t is basically that he prefers to sit in the booth, since the sound through the speakers is more like the sound that ends up in the movie, and that the sound in the hall itself can easily “fool” you into thinking the sound is better than it is. Or something.
