I’ve been watching these old tapes of MST3K and was suprised at how many Episodes have ELFMAN references.

In the episode where in they watch the movie “Double 007”, an agent gets shot with a projectile knife and as he falls to the ground CROW struggles out, “I… Am… The Walrus… Coo Coo…. CaCHOOOoooooo…”. Then the guy dies.

Then there are the “Santa Clause” and “Invasion USA” episodes where Mike, Tom & Crow joke about the similarities between the music playing during the opening credits and “a Good Danny Elfman tune”.

Then there is “The Final Sacrifice” episode where Tom ends the show singing about him in the closing credits. He messes up and says Elfman’s the father of Jenna Elfman. Oh dear.

Then there are various other obscure Elfman references. In the “Magic Voyage of Sinbad” episode this foreign name is credited as ‘music by’ and Tom says, “Oh doesn’t he also write for Oingo Boingo when he’s not doing film scores?”

I can’t possibly remember all the episodes he’s referenced in but “Rocket Attack USA”, “Pod People” & “Cave Dwellers” are among them.

If you don’t know what MST3K is then you won’t get this post unless you understand the glory of it. Go to the official site ate either: http://www.mst3k.com or http://mst3kinfo.com.

Sometime in the future I’ll compile a streaming real-one video of all the references and show you guys.

“I am the Walrus” is a Beatles reference, Boingo just covered the tune on the Boingo and Farewell albums

Being that it sounds like you watch the MST3K enough to site episodes like a thirty something yuppy would site “Friends” episodes I won’t hold it against you.

I, too, love MST3K but haven’t seen it in a while.

That show has an incredible amount of episodes (it was on for about ten or eleven years) but the rerurns they show on the Sci-Fi Channel are the same twelve or so episodes. I’ve seen them so many times I already know all the jokes and they’re not so funny anymore.
