GuestWell, I disagree.

GuestHave you seen the pictures of Halle Berry in the Catwoman costume? Danny should be glad that he’s miles away from this film. As for Batman: the new film is supposed to be different in tone from any of the previous film incarnations. I’d love to hear a new Elfman Batman score, but I have a feeling that he’s probably not going to be hired and would turn down the assignment if asked.

GuestI agree about Catwoman! The farther Elfman is away from that project, the better! That movie looks to be the biggest bomb of 2004. As for “Batman: Intimidation”, I would love to see Elfman back but either way the movie is shaping up to be extremely amazing!

GuestDanny must do score for Catwoman….. BUT OT FOR THIS CATWOMAN….. Not Pitof`s Catwoman…..

GuestI think he should be done with DC comic films altogether…clearly he’s not appreciated anymore, and Marvel seems to be friendlier to him.

GuestUh – huh, Spidey, Hulk (although he was a replacement for Hulk)… infact, Hulk isn’t an AMAZING score, but considering how rushed it was, it was a pretty good job! I also reckon Danny should’ve score the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

GuestI’m happy Danny manages to stay away from rubbish like Extraordinary Gentlemen… Trevor Jones score was a mess, too.
I think it would be really interesting to hear an “Alien” score by Danny – if they’ll ever do another one after “Alien Resurrection” destroyed the franchise.February 2, 2004 at 6:36 am #47922Anonymous
GuestThere’s alien vs. predator, but it seems like he won’t go near that one. Yeah, I’d say that it’s best to stay away from Catwoman and Batman: Intimidation Game. Let him maintain his professionality. He’s an Academy Award nominee again, and he’s not going to stray off and do films like those. Unfortunate that his themes are going to be replaced with lesser themes…

GuestLeague of Extraordinary Gentleman just wasn’t my thing…I’m glad Elfman sticks to comic book films that actually work.

GuestAbout Batman: Intimidation, I think Elfman has a good chance in scoring it. It’s a revamp series, they want the music to be impressive, obviously Elfman’s Batman music is the most popular. He just might be asked to do it. If not, please have Shirley Walker score it.

GuestI don’t acknowledge any Batman film until it has three names attached: Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, and Michael Keaton. Everything else, is just obsolete. Suppose I could be more than a little biased–but eh, I don’t care.
(And good god, they just keep destroying the franchise, don’t they)?

GuestThe latest news on “Alien vs. Predator” is that Marco Beltrami is in talks to write the score.

Guest… which is a pretty obious choice since he has worked with Mr. Anderson before and did a lot of horror/action-scores in his career. Too bad his music sucks… except maybe for “Minus Man” which I think was decent. I mean, they had all these great composers like Jerry Goldsmith, Elliot Goldenthal or Alan Silvestri scoring the previous films, and now they’re hiring Marco?
(I keep forgetting that they had all these great directors, too, like Ridley Scott, James Cameron, David Fincher and John McTiernan… and now it’s Paul WS Anderson! I believe Fox doesn’t give a damn about “Alien vs. Predator”.)February 4, 2004 at 4:45 pm #47976Anonymous
GuestIs there anyone here that would like to see Danny score a Star Trek film?
(Horner did 2&3, Eidelman’s 6 is fantastic, and Goldsmith is the ol’ stand-by.)February 4, 2004 at 10:40 pm #47990Anonymous
Guestno.

GuestI wouldn’t be surprised if Danny doesn’t do the score. CATWOMAN is (most likely) going to bomb, and he didn’t do anymore BATMAN score after the second one. It’s probably for the better, anyway.

GuestA star trek movie!!!??? no way! Jerry Goldsmith is the daddy of star trek music, now – he does THE best job (who likes the first contact score? – I LOVE it!). Jerry should keep it going, and Danny might turn it too… Danny-ish, you know. He’s a great composer, but just like anyone – the right guy for the right job. Simple.

GuestI don’t like Star Trek at all (it might have something to do with my mom being a devote follower back in the day and all–although thankfully she didn’t dress up and such–still, it was rather traumatic). So, figure it’s better for my little world if Danny stayed as far away from Star Trek as he possibly could.
(Keep in mind I don’t care and/or mind if anyone else likes Star Trek and all–I just happen to detest it. I prefer my sci-fi with aliens who eat people).

Or people who eat other people’s dogs.

GuestThe J (If your still reading),
I do enjoy the First contact score quite a bit. I was just listening to The Undiscovered Country recently and thought that Danny could have pulled it off. I wondered what peoples reaction would be to the suggestion of him doing a film of the genera.

GuestHave you forgot POTA, and it was Goldsmith who he had to follow for that one too.
I consider the Orginal score a classic (as do many people), and Elfman did what he always did… he did it his way and it was great (Just my opinion mind you).Just bringing it up, that’s all.
