James Bond producers have reportedly asked Lady Gaga to pen and perform the theme song for the next installment in the popular franchise. Gaga wants to go beyond her usual pop sound and add an orchestral backing. In order to do so she has seeked the help of A-list film composer Danny Elfman. Only 24-years-old, Gaga grew up with the work of Elfman, naming “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as her favorite, and has been looking forward to collaborating with him. David Arnold, meanwhile, is still expected to score the picture but will include some of Elfman and Gaga’s thematic elements. The film will begin production as soon as MGM finishes its sale to a new owner.
