GuestThe director pays Danny nothing. The studios on the other hand do. Both Danny and the director get paid from the same source (at least in the beginning). It’s a cut based on how much the studio is willing to chip in. Later on — depending on how well the “project” does — there are royalty fees too. As I’m aware Danny got rich through the royalties.

GuestIt is often in the millions, right? I mean, Danny has a huge Spanish mansion in LA.

GuestI read that on big projects, it’s between 1 and 1,5 million …

GuestDidn’t he say once that he makes like 25 cents everytime the Simpsons theme plays anywhere in the world?
He must be set for life [and 800 more] just with that.

GuestI believe he said he makes 10 dollars any time the simpsons theme is played. I suppose you could live off of those royalties by themselves, seeing as the show is played SO often.
but I can tell you that he makes 1.5 million for a full score.

Guest1.5 million per score. Wow. Thats a lot just doing something you love.
>>Danny has a huge Spanish mansion in LA.
I read a diary by Siouxsie and The Banshees and they said that Danny Elfman’s house has “all this cool Day of the Dead stuff.” But it was like the house was “built around” the souvenirs. Also, that Elfman is the most anal retentive man on the face of the earth. Siouxsie said she never expected a Texan to be like that.

GuestDo you know where we can see/get hold of this diary?
