Guesthttp://www.filmscoremonthly.com is conducting an oscar prediction ballot and elfman is dead last. you should go vote (without ballot stuffing, for those tech savvy losers).

GuestHey, he’s moved to third place! I’m gonna punch something (hopfully not a loved one) if Howard Shore wins. And by the way, Gabriel Yared, who’s in second place, scored a movie about 15 years ago called Romero. I watched it in my Spanish class, and I couldn’t help noticing that he composed the ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL, out-of-place, and annoying music in that movie. At least Danny is consistent.

GuestYeah, honestly I’d love to see any of the non-LOTR four win. I’m guessing that the award will go to Shore none the less, however. Honestly, I say that Thomas Newman has the best chance of stealing it, if anyone can.

GuestYou know…now that i think of it, i’d rather Danny NOT win at all. NO Oscar. Maybe he deserves it, but he’s beyond that BS in terms of awards. If he needed recognition and things like this, all he’d have to do is look in a mirror…or look in his fan sites. Stupid worthless statue, man, and the politics behind it.

GuestDanny got my vote.

GuestHe deserves the award, but I see what you mean about him NOT receiving the award. But still, I’m going to vote for him. And if he loses, I’ll be placed in an asylum for 2-4 weeks. Now where do I vote?

Guestweird ironic event here…but i read somewhere that danny elfman had the chance to score The Lord of The Rings Trilogy…..IS THIS TRUE?????

Guest****, it BETTER not be!!! When I first heard about the series being made into a movie, I thought, “Elfman would be great for this project”! I would love to hear what he would have produced.
… It’s not true.

GuestIf Mr. Elfman does win, will anyone be able to get a video clip of his acceptance speech? I know I’m going to miss 80% of the Awards due to an unforseen concert I have to attend, and I’d hate to just leave it up to assumption that MFADP will ‘nab it.
That and Best Actor (Just to hope Bill Murry wins, though he won’t) are all I really look forward to this year, anyway… but that isn’t half as important as seeing the totally un-Oscar orientated Elfman give a speech. Thanks.

GuestNo worries, he’s not gonna win. Not possible under any circumstances, even with the fact that his score is the best out of them.

GuestI’m going out on a limb and say that he WILL win.
And if he does I know why.

GuestThe fact that he’s the only nomination for Big Fish could help him. Oscar voters who want to give Big Fish some recognition will vote for it to win in the only category in which its nominated.

GuestPlease excuse the poor grammar in my previous post. That should be “it’s,” not “its.” :p
