GuestThat Elfman will be or should be taking part/doing the score to the 2nd Beetlejuice?
Im pretty sure he would never turn it down lets just hope he gets asked. Or do u guys know something i don’t?February 15, 2003 at 10:30 pm #44110Anonymous
GuestI read somewhere that the plot involves Beetlejuice returning to Earth as alive and meeting with an “urban” version of himself and the two of them proceed to wreak comic havoc.
I’ll only be interested if both Tim Burton and Elfman are part of it.

GuestWell, the thing about sequels, and why many people don’t acually take them on, is because they are mostly a stupid way to get more money. If Burton does it, I think it will be great, but if someone else does, it will probably turn out horrible (just look at the Batmans that Burton didn’t do, or for another example, look at the first 2 Adams Familys, then at the third, it’s just BAD). I’m glad Elfman didn’t return to the batman films after Tim left, and I hope that if this is not being directed by Tim, Elfman will turn it down.

GuestI know no one on this board is a Kevin Smith fan, but on An Evening with Kevin Smith DVD he said he was offered a couple of projects from a studio, that was when he was actually working on Superman, but one of the scripts they offered him to work on was Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian (he say that was the truth and not a joke). Be afraid, be very afraid.

Guest“Haven’t we said all we need to say in the first one? Must Beetlejuice go tropical?”

GuestI’m a huge BeetleJuice fan, so I’m selfish and all, and would like to see it made, but only if the people involved in the first film were present (like Tim and Danny and Michael)….but, it would be a huge disappointment if they were making the movie just for the sake of churning out another franchise.
However, since it’s been about fifteen years since the first film was made, I think that there may still be some hope that people’re actually trying to do things right. I mean, most often if they’re gonna set up a chain reaction of sequels, things pretty much move along quicker than this, don’t they?
And granted, I wouldn’t be happy if Kevin Smith were working on the project….but I’d still have to get over it and see the movie, anyways–as long as Tim, Danny, and Michael are still involved (and that would be the only way there would be some chance of me enjoying a Kevin Smith movie)!
Anyways, I’m one of those sick people who could watch BeetleJuice forever, and still never tired of it (I think I’ve seen it a hundred and sixty-seven times, or something like that)….
(I don’t think Kevin Smith and Tim Burton would be working on something together, though, since Kevin sort of joked around about Tim ripping off the ending of Planet of the Apes from an idea he had–and then Tim stated that he wouldn’t rip off anything from Smith, since he didn’t have anything worth stealing….or something like that–it was in an article from Wizard magazine awhile back….a small blurb, and nothing more. I don’t think there was a big deal made out of it or anything, though, so maybe)….

GuestYou should see the Kevin Smith DVD (Bodhi sure has) he explains what happened with the Superman thing (great Spider story there) and Planet of the Apes.
It’s a very funny DVD for a Kevin Smith fan, sorry Uwus and Bodhi I guess I assumed I was his only fan on this board due to an earlier post.

GuestWell the new script it being written as we speak and Tim isnt director.. but he will be producer. so..take thata s u man, Of corse Keaton is BJ, and if all things fo well Danny will score,
Anway Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian was nothing, it never came to anything, and there wasnt any finished scriped thank god. i think a 2nd film will be 50/50 and im afrade it could very well tuen out to be rubbish. As for oginial goes it will never be replaced. - AuthorPosts
