Danny Burton
ParticipantHoward Shore was signed to score MARS ATTACKS! There’s a great story why he didn’t ultimately end up scoring the film… But I’ll never tell!!

Changed your mind already?

KeymasterHaha. Someday. There are some behind-the-scenes stuff that I’d like to keep to myself. I hate reading tidbits elsewhere (like, say, Chris Young scoring SPIDER-MAN 3) that originated here, without any credit at all.

ParticipantI think we should all start a fund via paypal where we can try and raise enough money to bribe you. Of all the things in the ENTIRE WORLD, that is the information I want most, and you have it! It bothers me to no end.

ParticipantThere is more to the Spiderman 3 fiasco than a tidbit or Christopher Young; the behind-the-scenes is practically a book in itself, ha.

ParticipantYour mom is practically a book in itself.
No wait… that didn’t make any sense… Ah, nevermind.June 19, 2005 at 8:14 pm #54240SB.com

Participanti already know y and, being the nice girl i am, i will tell u (the people who do not know this) what happened:
While working on the NmBC, Danny Elfman was mad about something (could it be that the director was not Tim Burton?????) and so there was a huge fight Between Tim Burton and Danny Elfman, so bad that Tim Burton picked someone other than Danny Elfman (who was expecting to compose it) to score Ed Wood, so the two were apart for a while until Tim Burton was about to score Mars Attacks and had signed Howard Shore to score it, but Tim Burton Let Danny Elfman compose it. But no one is for positive on why this all happened except for….Danny Elfman. Even Tim Burton wasn’t even sure. “I think he was mad at me from Nightmare. Nightmare was hard because between Danny, Henry [Selick, director] and Caroline [Thompson, screenplay] we were like a bunch of kids, fighting. That’s what I felt like anyway, and I think it was just one of those times when, like in any relationship, we just needed a break, and it was probably good for all of us.” (Burton on Burton, 2000)

ParticipantUm, yeah, I was going to nitpick on the grammar, but, uh… No. I’m going to pretend that you never wrote that.

ParticipantAnd SB, I apologize for that ridiculous comment I posted. Nothing I could say would redeem myself.

ParticipantI’m sorry. I was a little annoyed at your post because the why that you said was uncertain in your info is what this thread was about to begin with – we already knew about the falling out between Elfman and Burton. But that’s still not ok, saying what I said. Your grammar in the beginning just reminded me of a troll who shows up occasionally on this board and whos grammar is far worse than yours, it sounds like another language poorly translated into English. Sorry again. I don’t want to be making an enemy out of anybody.
~Ooshmaster, who seems to be f—king up a lot lately.

Participantum….well, I dont know you people and I dont know what you know about Danny Elfman and Tim Burton and such. And, anyways, I was just being kind to the people who do not know. I should just stick with the Elfman zone board…

ParticipantYou were right to post that, and what you said was true, you were providiing info to people that did not know it, which is probably quite a few, the ohter posts that have discussed this before are quite old, and no one should be expected to read old posts. I’m the only one at fault for being such a jerk, especially someone new. I, and everyone else here, I’m sure, would love for you to stay.

Participant..what a child.

ParticipantIt’s ok. I didn’t know about this info until I looked at the elfman zone page and was surprised (being so young, I only have seen few Tim Burton movies, even though my famliy had a Tim Burton fest, there are only few movies at a small video store). But, anyway, you would like me to stay??? Now, I dont feel so weird anymore.
